Building A Board
Fernando Carmona, OG, Arkansas
Fernando Carmona is from Las Vegas, Nevada. He played Tight End for Las Vegas High School, where he caught 13 passes for 152 yards and a TD as a senior. Carmona took a redshirt season in ‘21 at San Jose State as he got acclimated to playing on the offensive line. In ‘22, he took over the starting Left Tackle role for the Spartans, allowing 3 sacks and getting penalized 10 times. He improved to an Honorable Mention on the All-Mountain West Conference honorees, cutting his sacks down to two with 7 penalties. Fernando Carmona hit the transfer portal in ‘24, joining the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Razorbacks ranked 10th nationally in total offense per game. Carmona as an above-average pass and run blocker. This season, Carmona has shifted inside to Left Guard for the Razorbacks, as he projects more of a guard in the NFL.
Gabe Jacas, EDGE, Illinois
Gabe Jacas is from Port St. Lucie, Florida. He went to high school at Fort Pierce Central. A state champion wrestler, Jacas received offers from Mississippi State, Tennessee, and Tulane, but chose to play for Illinois. As a freshman in ‘22, Jacas was named a Freshman All-American as he finished with 4 sacks, 5 TFLs, 13 QB Hits, and 35 tackles. During his sophomore season in ‘23, Jacas had another solid year with 4 sacks and 31 tackles. In ‘24, Jacas displayed his best pass-rushing abilities yet as he had career-highs in sacks (8), tackles for loss (13), QB Hurries (28), and forced three fumbles. Jacas earned All-Big Ten 3rd Team recognition for his efforts. This season, the senior edge rusher has already gotten off to a great start, getting after the QB as he had two sacks in Illinois’ Week 1 matchup.
Rod Moore, S, Michigan
Rod Moore is from Dayton, Ohio. A 4-star recruit, Moore helped Northmont High School start 8-0 his senior season. As a true freshman at Michigan in ‘21, Rod Moore shared the team Defensive Rookie of the Year and was the sole Special Teams Rookie of the Year. He finished with 32 tackles, while taking over a starting role by the end of the year. As a sophomore in ‘22, Moore was named a full-time starter as his four interceptions led the team, to go with 71 tackles. During Michigan’s National Championship in ‘23, Moore was named 3rd Team All-Big Ten as he picked off two passes, broke up 3 more, and had 38 tackles. Michigan missed Rod Moore all of the ‘24 season as he tore his ACL and meniscus in the spring of ‘24. Despite not playing, Moore was named a Team Captain as a leader off the field. Named captain again, the 5th-year senior is set to return to Michigan’s lineup in their Week 2 matchup with Oklahoma this weekend.
Caleb Tiernan, OT, Northwestern
Caleb Tiernan is from Livonia, Michigan. A two-sport athlete at Detroit Country Day High School, Tiernan captained both the football and basketball teams his senior season. After redshirting in ‘21, Tiernan made five starts at Right Tackle in ‘22. Tiernan held his own in their big matchup against Ohio State by allowing zero pressures. The following season, Tiernan flipped to the starting Left Tackle role, allowing just 1 sack and 7 QB Hits. As a junior in ‘24, Tiernan continued to show poise as a pass blocker, as he allowed just three sacks while earning a PFF College Pass Block Grade of 88.9, an elite score. At 6’7” and 325 lbs., Caleb Tiernan has quick enough feet and size to play tackle at the next level.
Rocco Becht, QB, Iowa State
Rocco Becht is from West Chapel, Florida. The son of former NY Jets 2000 1st Round pick Anthony Becht, who played 12 years in the NFL. Rocco Becht was a 4-star prospect out of Wiregrass Ranch High School, where he was a 3-year varsity starter at QB. He redshirted in ‘22 as he sat behind Hunter Dekkers. Once Dekkers was indicted on charges of sports gambling, Becht won out the starting QB1 job in ‘23. The redshirt freshman was named 2nd-Team Freshman All-American and the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year. The rookie signal caller broke Cyclone freshman records such as completions (231), passing yards (3,120), and passing TDs (23). Becht continued his excellent play as a sophomore, leading the Cyclones to double-digit wins for the first time in program history as they reached the Big 12 Championship Game. His 3,505 passing yards in ‘24 were 11th best in the nation and his 25 passing TDs were good for 20th. Both of Becht’s top WRs from ‘24, Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, have moved on to play on Sundays, but the 3-year starter hasn’t skipped a beat thus far this season, throwing 5 TDs with a 68.8% completion percentage in the Cyclones’ first two games of ‘25. With NFL blood and plenty of starting experience, Rocco Becht should be the latest Iowa State Cyclone to get his name called on Draft Day. He’ll join Seneca Wallace, Sage Rosenfels, and Brock Purdy.

Zuby Ejiofor, C, St. John’s
Zuby Ejiofor is from Garland, Texas. He didn’t start playing basketball until he was in the 8th grade. By the time Ejiofor was a senior in high school, he was averaging 21.7 points, 13 rebounds, and 3.9 blocks per game for Garland HS. Ejiofor’s first stop out of high school was the University of Kansas. In 25 games with the Jayhawks, the big man saw limited action off the bench. He transferred to St. John’s once Rick Pitino took over the program. While Ejiofor still came off the bench for the Johnnies in ‘23-’24, the 6’9” center saw his minutes double, scoring 4.3 points with 3.1 rebounds per game. Last season was Zuby Ejiofor’s best one yet. He was named a Team Captain and the Big East’s Most Improved Player as his averages jumped to 14.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. Ejiofor was particularly a menace on the offensive rebounds and even had a knack for hitting game-winning buzzer beaters from the paint. Now a senior, Zuby Ejiofor is the only core member of St. John’s from a year ago to return. Expect another monster year from Zuby Ejiofor on the boards on both ends of the floor.
Bryce Hopkins, PF, St. John’s
Bryce Hopkins is from Oak Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. At Fenwick High School, Hopkins was a 4-star prospect named to the Jordan Brand Classic and Iverson Round Ball rosters. His first stop in college was at Kentucky. After not receiving much playing time, Hopkins transferred to Providence in ‘22. He was immediately inserted into the Friars’ starting lineup as a sophomore, averaging 15.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. For his efforts, Hopkins was named 1st Team All-Big East in ‘22-’23. Unfortunately, Hopkins’ junior season was cut short with an ACL tear. In his 15 games started that season, the power forward put up 15.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. While he was able to make a recovery to get back on the floor in ‘24, he would ultimately play just 3 games last season with a bone bruise in his knee. Bryce Hopkins has only played 18 games in the past two seasons, but the 5th-year senior should potentially still be a valuable piece to St. John’s roster as a floor spacing power forward. The transfer grad student has confirmed he now feels fully healthy.
Ian Jackson, SG, St. John’s
Ian Jackson is from The Bronx, New York. Highly recruited from Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Jackson averaged 23.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.6 steals as a senior. He also played 3 seasons at Cardinal Hayes, helping them win a Class AA state title. The UNC Tarheels came calling and Jackson headed to Chapel Hill. As a freshman last season, Ian Jackson worked his way into the UNC starting lineup, but ran out of favor in playing time by the season’s end. All-in-all, Jackson still averaged 11.9 points per game and was on the ACC's All-Freshman Team. This past spring, Ian Jackson transferred back home to New York City. The 6’4” guard is the exact kind of tough and skillful NYC backcourt ballplayer Rick Pitino enjoys molding. Expect Jackson to play elite defense and be a double-digit scorer in his homecoming.
Joson Sanon, SF, St. John’s
Joson Sanon is from Fall River, Massachusetts. A consensus 5-star recruit out of Vermont Academy, Sanon decided to play for Arizona State last season. As a true freshman, Sanon flashed plenty of high upside at times as he served as the 6th Man before earning a starting role down the stretch. Sanon averaged 11.9 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 37% from deep for the Sun Devils. The wing player has an elite pull-up jump shot and will provide St. John’s with some much-improved shooting. Joson Sanon could very well be the team’s heat check artist as a perimeter player who can score 25+ points in any given game. He’ll still have to go out and prove it, but Sanon should fit in very well with St. John’s.
