@YouTheReader Lorde was born in New Zealand, but check out what she had to say to the Irish Central.
Alright so I’m reaching a bit here but please just read me out…
Totally agree, Lorde! A part of the reason I started writing about sports was I was tired of listening to the same people in sports drone on & on about topics that I know my friends and family could handle if they had the platform and means. It’s just sports, it’s not rocket science.
Oh, wait she meant tedious gossip and commentary? I agree with that as well!
@Jamakiss (if you bothered clicking the link in bio) come back on Thursday’s His Or Her Words, Not Mine. I’ll be sure to tell you all about WTF this is supposed to be. Cheers!
@YouTheReader I’m doing this for the Thrill of it all. I understand I may sometimes write about lofty big goals I have in mind with Week to Week Notes, but sometimes when you think small big things can happen. I’d rather chase after a million things the way I am now while I still have the little bit of energy & youth that I still have. I’m already pretty much 30 so I might as well go for it, no?
Great movie.
I’m not sure if any @YouTheReaders have picked up on this but on the @You_The_Reader account, one of the new things I enjoy doing that seems like it may be a different art form on social media is just storing all negative commentary under “Hate.” Hate is a strong word and I’m sure most of the people who take time out of their busy day to comment likely are far too busy to click the link in bio, but I’m just going to use this section as Bulletin Board Material. I’ll try my best to always show love back to people that come at me with negativity, but rest assured I’m driven to make their words live in infamy. What? I’m a Fringe Lunatic!
Smile Like You Mean It. Save some face, you know you’ve only got one. Change your ways while you’re young.
Getting dinged or negative feedback is something that can stick in my head. I use it for fuel though, you should too. I don’t know about you but I have fun proving people wrong.
@YouTheReader I hope I don’t sound like an arsehole or broken record when I insinuate that my lofty goal is for Week to Week Notes to hold the title of the next Sports Media Publication Empire. Hopefully, you don’t know anybody else in their Rookie Season going for it like me, if so, please let me know so that I can add another chip to my shoulder.
Well, I think I’ll always have the inkling to write about Sports&Life, my main focus right now is taking Notes Week to Week in my Rookie Season as a writer. It’ll be 1 year on April 27th, which just so happens to be the day of the ‘23 NFL Draft. That’ll bring an end to Monday Mock Drafts & So Far Gone for ‘23. I’ll of course have other Sports&Life to write about entering my Sophomore Season while listening to Thank Me Later as a pick-me-up on Mondays.

The Mayfly 2/22 ‘23
Service & Staff: A+
Guinness: 9.5
Guinness Challenge: I Failed.
Notes if you can’t read my sloppy scribble: Conor is the bartender/manager. He is originally from Mayo. He plays the middle of the E when playing Guinness Golf. The Mayfly has been open for about a year. The owners are from Cavan and Conor is a partner. His recommendations for drinks besides Guinness are “Jet Fuel or Old fashions.” In terms of food, “you can’t go wrong with the burger.” They have a Happy Hour from 5 to 7 every day. On Mondays, they have a Trivia night at 8 pm and a comedy open mic at 10 pm. You can’t beat their Wednesday night special of $1 wings. Fridays and Saturdays they have a DJ at night. Saturdays and Sundays The Mayfly has a bottomless brunch. On Sunday their happy hour is all night. During Happy Hour hours, a burger or taco with a drink is only $16. The Bland Mayfly was an early aircraft constructed in 1910 by Lilian E. Bland in Carnmoney, Ireland. It is credited as the 1st aeroplane to be designed and constructed by a woman.
Thankfully I later found out that night from a @YouTheReader that the owners’ of the Mayfly are from Tappan Zee. As soon as I reviewed the Guinness and heard the story behind The Mayfly I was going to do a Stumblin’ Along piece on Lilian E. Bland. Now I can mention Up Rockland and I’ll be sure to get another pint of Guinness at the Mayfly again soon!
Overcoming a size disadvantage, and the doubt of many onlookers this season, Tappan Zee boys basketball punched its ticket to the state semifinals.
