I Feel It Coming | Tribeca Social | The Irish Punt | Brickyard Craft Kitchen | YouTube Rabbithole
Alright @YouTheReader,
Today’s tune is I Feel It Coming by The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk. This song was on The Weeknd’s album called Starboy which came out in ‘16. I Feel It Coming peaked at #4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 while doing quite well internationally as it reached the Top 10 in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Lebanon, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Paraguay, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK, respectively.
The Weeknd is from Toronto, just like Drake, except the 2 music stars don’t see eye to eye anymore. The Weeknd has decided to choose the side of Mr. Metro Boomin’, Future, Rick Ross, and Kendrick Lamar, instead of his fellow Canadian, eh?
I’m sure many are wondering “Why use the Weeknd’s I Feel It Coming at a time like this?”
The other song options that were on in the background of today’s fine drinking establishments were Roses by Saint Jhn and Somebody Else by The 1975. I don’t know where Sir Saint Jhn stands in this rap beef and as a Swiftie, there is no way in hell I could play a tune by one of Taylor Swift’s exes the same week of Tortured Poets Department.
I’ll try to stay unbiased toward The Weeknd’s lyrics….
Somebody tell The Weeknd it’s a weekday and the lady he’s singing to doesn’t have time for this.
Let’s be honest, the Daft Punk beat is what really makes this song anyway.
Okay, well, that’s one way to introduce the pints…
#GuinnessChallengeSeason
@Kids don’t try this at home. Not just because you’re underage and will have plenty of pints to drink if that ends up being your thing when you’re older but also because Guinness is actually best served in a pint glass from a tap. A pint of Guinness varies depending on the drinking establishment. If the keg it sits in is rarely poured, it can lead to some underwhelming taste. Rather than stealing gimmicks, I’d like to start taking Notes while drinking Guinness. My grandfather from Connemara, whom I never got the chance to meet, Thomas Davis, used to drink pints and by all accounts was a self-taught thinker. The one rule I’ve imposed on myself is that I will only have 1 pint per sitting from each establishment I review, so @AnyoneWorrying, don’t worry about my drinking habits. The Guinness Challenge is to “cut the G” on your first sip (more like a gulp and a half). If this is your first time hearing about it, I didn’t come up with the fun challenge @YouTheReader can try the next time you have a Guinness. The 0.0 to 10.0 scale will be extraordinarily nuanced but as a reference point, the only perfect 10.0 I plan ever to give out is at the Guinness Factory in Dublin one day.
Notes if you can’t read my sloppy scribble: Large Connect 4 Game in the middle of the bar. White paint over the exposed brick. “Let’s get social” is in blue light behind me. The 3 TVs behind the bar are inside the goldfish picture frames. It looks very nice and d unique. New co-workers next to me are networking and having a few drinks. The Pot of Gold drink is recommended. Also, the Bang Bang shrimp or wonton-wrapped mozzarella is recommended as well.
Opened in ‘22, the Tribeca Social is located on Murray Street just a block from City Hall Park. It is a nice spot for some after-work drinks with co-workers as their Happy Hour runs from 4 to 7 PM every weekday. Their version of a Pot of Gold sounds good, it’s a Dusse’, Ginger, and Lemon. They have a nice selection of their own take on cocktails with a step above pub grub bar menu of food. Their Bang Bang Shrimp is a hit. They had a nice afterword crowd and looks like I may have missed out on meeting Fab 5 Member, Jalen Rose, as he stopped by last spring. I look forward to grabbing another drink at Tribeca Social again!

Notes if you can’t read my sloppy scribble: Taytos behind the bar. $7 green tea shots. Christmas lights and 3 TVs behind the bar. It’s named the Irish punt because it was the old currency and we’re beside Wall Street. Not a rugby punt, I asked. Duke vs Michigan State college hoops on TV. This is a Wall Street pub so everybody here is networking with an agenda of ulterior motives. So much alpha energy. Kait is the bartender. She is from Tullamore like the Dew. Her favorite pub back home is Eugene’s Bar at Kelly Hotel in Tullamore.
After Ireland gained their independence they came up with their own form of currency around 1928. The Irish Pound was called the Punt Éireannach in Gaelic. While the Euro would replace the Irish Punt at the turn of the millennium, The Irish Punt at Exchange Place does a great job keeping Irish traditions alive. They serve a mighty fine pint of Guinness and the Taytos looked stellar. The Irish Punt pub is a favorite spot for people on Wall Street or in the greater Financial District area. I also looked up Eugene’s Bar in Tullamore and that looks like another great pub as well across the pond. I look forward to grabbing another pint of Guinness at The Irish Punt again!

Notes if you can’t read my sloppy scribble: Left my credit card at Tribeca Social for the night before, thankfully I was able to retrace each of my steps thanks to #GuinnessChallengeSeason. I haven’t heard I Feel It Coming by The Weeknd since his Super Bowl performance, great song, love it. $14 for a pint of Guinness is pricey, but this place is packed with an after-work crowd so they must be doing something right! 30+ TVs and plenty of space in this long hall-style bar. Happy Hour runs from 11 AM to 8 PM, Guinness is sadly not included. Sports bar.
While the Guinness may have been a bit steep, their happy hour of domestic beers was quite the deal. The Brickyard was very packed with sports fans after work when I went. They are home to the longest bar table in New York City. Brickyard also has 10 video walls of TVs that total over 30+ individual TVs, which is excellent as you can watch quite literally all the games in all seasons. No surprise as they are sister bars with All Stars in Midtown. If you’re planning on going for one with a group, you may want to reserve your table beforehand. They have a ton of space so if you’re looking to book a B-Day party, baby shower, office function, or any type of special event, here are the details. I look forward to grabbing another pint at Brickyard Craft Kitchen again!
