Snoop Dogg’s Drop It Like It’s Hot was an ‘04 cultural phenomenon. It reached the great heights of #1 on the top of the charts of US Billboard’s Hot 100. Everybody from a certain age knows how to click their tongue to this beat and if you don’t - I feel sorry for you.

Snoop made headlines last week when it was announced he had given up smoke.

On to the pints…
#GuinnessChallengeSeason
@Kids don’t try this at home. Not just because you’re underage and will have plenty of pints to drink if that ends up being your thing when you’re older but also because Guinness is actually best served in a pint glass from a tap. A pint of Guinness varies depending on the drinking establishment. If the keg it sits in is rarely poured, it can lead to some underwhelming taste. Rather than stealing gimmicks, I’d like to start taking Notes while drinking Guinness. My grandfather from Connemara, who I never got the chance to meet, Thomas Davis, used to drink pints and by all accounts was a self-taught thinker. The one rule I’ve imposed on myself is that I will only have 1 pint per sitting from each establishment I review, so @AnyoneWorrying, don’t worry about my drinking habits. The Guinness Challenge is to “cut the G” on your first sip (more like a gulp and a half). If this is your first time hearing about it, I didn’t come up with the fun challenge @YouTheReader can try the next time you have a Guinness. The 0.0 to 10.0 scale will be extraordinarily nuanced but as a reference point, the only perfect 10.0 I plan ever to give out is at the Guinness Factory in Dublin one day.

Notes if you can’t read my sloppy scribble: Rare rooftop bar in The City with Guinness on draft. The whole roof is structured with brick. There is a beautiful view of the Freedom Tower in the distance. The tacos and lobster rolls are recommended. The Agave Sauce and Patio Pounder are recommended cocktails. The rooftop is only open in the summer so this is obsolete but they also have a downstairs space.
Unfortunately, this awesome rooftop vibe is only around for the summer, making this review a bit obsolete at the moment. That said, it’s definitely a spot to bookmark for next spring. Very cool patio rooftop. I look forward to grabbing another drink at Freehold Rooftop again next year!

Notes if you can’t read my sloppy scribble: Exposed brick behind the bar. A classy wooden shelf filled with some nice hard stuff in front of said exposed brick. Chicken sandwiches and chips are recommended. The top of the menu says “Get Lost”, a nice touch. Their margarita is recommended. A young-ish-old crowd of ages around 25 to 33 come here after work. Dark spot but not too dark, with decent lighting. Prohibition TV screen and art in the corner of the bar. This place goes pretty far back. The countertop for the bar is teal and orange marble.
Lost Spirits’ setting is a nod to the Prohibition Era of New York. It is a high-energy cocktail bar that also features craft beers and small plates from locally sourced food. Whether it be a date spot or a weekend hangout, you’ll have plenty of options to get lost in spirits at Lost Spirits. I look forward to grabbing another drink at Lost Spirits again soon!

Notes if you can’t read my sloppy scribble: Whimsical Victorian Era details all over. I’m looking at a deck of cards, a frog in a bow tie, a white rabbit, and butterflies. Trippy. Very unique place. Rihanna and Taylor Swift’s This Is What You Came For, ah yes, I remember I found out Taylor Swift did the vocals and wrote this with Riri. Matt next to me is from South Carolina. He and his wife are huge Clemson football fans. “The buttermilk chicken sandwich, I would get it again.” The drink Matt’s, “Fly Me to the Moon” has “a nice burn to it.” This place does themes depending on the season and at the moment it’s Alice and Wonderland.
A very unique spot, I was at Lillie’s Victorian by Union Square but there is also one located by Times Square. The amount of decorations that they have up is extremely impressive. The attention to detail is awesome. They just decorated it in a haunted fashion for Halloween and now it is Christmas season. Regardless of the season, this is a great spot to grab dinner and a drink. I look forward to grabbing another pint of Guinness at Lillie’s Victorian again soon!
