Today’s tune is Drake’s Controlla. It’s the 11th track off his album Views, since I gotta get back to the Drake albums in chronological order.
The dancehall-infused song served as a sequel to Work, on which Drake featured with Rihanna. A decent-enough hit, this landed at #16 on the US Billboard Hot 100 but got old pretty quickly.

Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, S, Toledo
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren is from Tampa, Florida. A 3-star recruit out of Lakewood High School, McNeil-Warren had 55 tackles and 3 INTs his senior season. As a freshman at Toledo in ‘22, McNeil-Warren only really contributed on special teams as he recorded 7 tackles and a forced fumble. His defensive playing time increased in his sophomore season in ‘23, as he McNeil-Warren broke out with 70 tackles, 4 TFLs, 2 INTs, and 4 forced fumbles. As a junior in ‘24, McNeil-Warren missed five games due to injury but still managed to have 61 tackles, 1.5 TFLs, and an interception in 8 games. This past season, Emmanuel McNeil-Warren became the first player from Toledo to be named an AP All-American since his former teammate Quinyon Mitchell. The 3rd Team All-American Safety had 77 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, 2 INTs, a Pick-6, and forced 3 fumbles. A playmaking free safety with plenty of range is one of the best CF safeties of his class.
Trevor Goosby, OT, Texas
Trevor Goosby is from Melissa, Texas. He attended Melissa High School, where he represented them in the US Army High School Bowl in ‘22. As a freshman at Texas, Goosby saw minimal action in ‘23. The redshirt freshman made his first two career starts in ‘24, earning some playing time at both tackle spots on the offensive line. This past season, Goosby earned a starting role at Left Tackle and blocked for Arch Manning’s blindside all of ‘25. In his first full season as a starter, Goosby allowed just 3 sacks and 3 QB Hits all year. He graded out as an above-average blocker in both the pass and run game. Although Trevor Goosby isn’t as experienced as some, his 6’7” and 315 lbs. size and frame are prototypical for the NFL.
Daylen Everette, CB, Georgia
Daylen Everette is from Norfolk, Virginia. He attended high school at IMG Academy, where he was ranked the 3rd-best CB in the nation as a 5-star recruit. As a freshman at Georgia, Everette mostly played on the special teams kick coverage, finishing with 13 tackles on the season. By his sophomore season in ‘23, Everette earned a starting role, registering 29 tackles, 3 TFLs, an interception, and 5 pass deflections. During his junior year in ‘24, Evertte was selected 3rd Team All-SEC by a coaches poll, as he tallied 58 tackles, 2 TFLs, a sack, two forced fumbles, and 3 INTs. This past season, Evertte was again selected 3rd Team All-SEC by a coaches poll. Thus far, Daylen Everette has made 41 tackles, caught one interception, and broken up 8 passes. The senior CB will play a significant role in the Bulldogs’ pursuit of a National Championship, which is something he won as a freshman in ‘22.
LJ Martin, RB, BYU
LJ Martin is from El Paso, Texas. Both of his parents were college athletes at Western New Mexico, where his father was a hooper, and his mother was a softball player. A 3-star recruit, Martin ran for 2,137 yards and 23 scores his senior season at Canutillo High School. From the time he was a freshman at BYU, Martin led the team in carries. His first year in the Big 12 saw 109 carries for 518 rushing yards and 4 TDs. As a sophomore, Martin’s production increased to 137 carries for 718 yards and 7 TDs. Labeled an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in ‘24, Martin came back for his junior year determined to take another leap forward. This past season, Martin finished with 1,305 rushing yards and 12 TDs, while adding 36 catches for 255 yards. The Cougar running back was named the Big 12 Conference’s Offensive Player of the Year and has elected to enter the NFL Draft rather than play his senior season. At 6’2” and 220 lbs., LJ Martin isn’t a joy to bring down as 893 of his 1,305 rushing yards this season came after contact.
Anto Saka, EDGE, Northwestern
Anto Saka is from Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Loyola Blakefield, where he played football and ran track. During his senior season, Saka ran an 11.5-second 100-meter dash and recorded nine sacks. After redshirting in ‘22, Saka made his football debut at Northwestern in ‘23. In 11 games played, Saka finished with 13 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, and 5.5 sacks. During his redshirt sophomore season in ‘24, Saka again played in 11 games, registering 15 tackles, 5 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, and 16 QB Hurries. This past season, Saka had 4 TFLs, 3 sacks, and 17 QB Hurries. While his collegiate production for the Wildcats doesn’t jump off the page, Saka has NFL traits at 6’4” and 250 lbs. His days of competing in track have translated to screaming off the edge on the gridiron. Anto Saka has declared for the NFL Draft and, with an expected impressive showing at the NFL Combine, could make himself an early round selection.
Here’s a quick bit about five College Basketball players this season…
Blue Cain, SG, Georgia
Blue Cain is from Knoxville, Tennessee. During the early ‘90s, both Cain’s parents were college athletes as his father golfed at Duke, while his mother was a hooper at George Washington. Blue Cain attended the IMG Academy during his senior season, where he averaged 12.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. The four-star recruit chose to play for the Georgia Bulldogs. As a freshman in ‘23-’24, Cain appeared in every game and made the final 10 starts of the season, averaging 7.4 points per game. As a sophomore last season, Cain started every contest as his averages increased to 9.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. Now a junior, Cain continues to be a stalwart in the Bulldogs’ starting lineup. Georgia is off to an 11-1 start to their season with Cain averaging 16 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. At 6’5”, Blue Cain is an excellent two-way player that fits the NBA’s 3&D mold.
Joshua Jefferson, PF, Iowa State
Joshua Jefferson is from Las Vegas, Nevada. He attended Liberty High School in Henderson, Nevada, where he averaged 17.7 points and 10 rebounds per game his senior season. His collegiate career began at St. Mary’s. After a freshman season where Jefferson came off the Gaels’ bench, the power forward earned a starting role as a sophomore. Unfortunately, his ‘23-’24 season would get cut short due to a leg injury, but Jefferson had managed to average 10.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Before his junior year, Jefferson transferred to Iowa State. He led the Cyclones in rebounding with 7.4 boards per game while also chipping in with 13 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.1 steals as well. Now a senior, Joshua Jefferson is listed as a power forward but is genuinely a point forward. The entire Cyclone offense runs through their big man, as Jefferson is averaging 17.7 points, 5 assists, 7 rebounds, and is hitting on 43% of his 3s. Not only is Jefferson a very skilled scorer, but his passing may be what truly separates him at the next level.
Koa Peat, SF, Arizona
Koa Peat is from Chandler, Arizona. The youngest of seven, Koa Peat, comes from a big sports family. His father, Todd Peat, played in the NFL for 6 seasons as an offensive lineman. His older brother, Andrus Peat, played football at Stanford and is still playing in the NFL after 11 seasons. Koa Peat attended Gilbert Perry High School, where he won the state basketball championship all four years, earning Gatorade Player of the Year honors for Arizona his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. He also competed for Team USA's junior national teams, winning the 2023 USA Basketball Male Player of the Year after helping the USA win three gold medals. The 5-star recruit has led Arizona to a perfect 12-0 start to their season. Thus far, Peat is averaging 13.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. The 6’8” forward is a slasher with a nice mid-range game. He’ll likely have to develop more of a 3-point shot in the NBA, but for now he’s one of the best freshman forwards in the nation.
Rienk Mast, C, Nebraska
Rienk Mast is from Groningen, Netherlands. He played for Donar in the top division of the Dutch Basketball League, where he was named the league’s Youth Player of the Year and Most Improved Player following the 2018-19 season. His collegiate career stateside began at Bradley University. In three seasons with the Braves, Mast averaged 11.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. The European big man was named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman Team in ‘21, the Missouri Valley Conference Most Improved Team in ‘22, and the 1st Team Missouri Valley Conference in ‘23. After graduating from Bradley, Mast transferred to Nebraska in ‘23-’24. In his first season with the Cornhuskers, Mast averaged 12.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. He missed last season due to knee surgery, obtaining his second medical redshirt year. Back with the Cornhuskers for one more run, Mast is averaging a career-high 17 points per game on 40% shooting from beyond the arc. As the focal point of the Nebraska offense, the 6’10” center has the Cornhuskers off to a perfect 12-0 season.
