Raised in Pearl River and based in Woodlawn, The Narrowbacks know plenty about how to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day in New York. SOS is the Irish-American band’s latest single that came out Friday night. The upbeat anthem pairs well with their other Saint Patrick’s Day hits, such as Streets of Woodlawn and Paddy’s Field. This week’s NFL Mock Draft features all 7 Rounds of the New York Football franchises…
1st Round
- Travis Hunter to the Giants makes sense, pending the rumors about Aaron Rodgers staying in New York are true. The Heisman Trophy winner is an immediate upgrade at two positions of need. Whether Hunter can actually dominate both sides of the ball remains to be seen, but he’d bring the Giants newfound excitement to a franchise that’s been dead.
- It would be very Jets for them to pass on Brock Bowers last year only to draft a TE earlier the year later. A 1st Round Tight End usually comes with a luxury pick connotation, but in this case, the Jets need to hit on this pick. Warren has enough potential to share All-Pro status with Bowers for the next decade.
2nd Round
- The Giants’ interior offensive line was horrendous in ‘24. Donovan Jackson had two very productive seasons playing Left Guard for Ohio State before shifting over to play Left Tackle in a pinch last season. While Jackson projects more as a guard, he’s clearly versatile enough to play on the outside as well.
- The Jets currently have Tony Adams, Chuck Clark, and Ashtyn Davis under contract as a safety group, so they could use a long-term upgrade. Malaki Starks has flashed some elite potential as a ballhawk safety at Georgia. With 3 years of experience as the Bulldogs’ Center Field, Starks is excellent in pass coverage and a sure-tackler in run defense.
3rd Round
- If the Giants aren’t planning on drafting a QB with the 3rd pick, they may as well take a shot in the 3rd Round with Quinn Ewers. The Longhorn QB has all the NFL tools and was once considered a sure-fire 1st Round pick. Reportedly, the Giants brass is “intrigued” by the possibility of taking Ewers on Day 2. While Ewers couldn’t give Texas a National Championship, he did show some resilience playing through pain in ‘24.
- This NFL Draft class has plenty of depth on the defensive line, which could serve the Jets well after they neglected the position group in ‘24. Omarr Norman-Lott was one of the most effective interior line pass rushers in College Football last season. The reason he’ll slip into the 3rd Round is his lack of snap count from playing on a loaded Tennessee Volunteers D-Line. Norman-Lott would be an excellent upgrade as a rotational DT in pass rush situations.
4th Round
- Charles Grant may be a small school product, but he has plenty of production as an elite blindside blocker. In 4 seasons as a starter for William & Mary, Grant allowed just 4 sacks and 4 QB hits in over 1,150 passing snaps. The former high school wrestler may need to add some weight to play guard in ‘25, but he could be a long-term tackle for the G-Men, who will need to make a decision on Evan Neal. Perhaps they decide to move Neal inside and play Grant at Right Tackle. Later in the 4th Round, Luke Lachey won’t develop into the next George Kittle, but Iowa has become a factory for TEs. A year removed from a fractured ankle, Lachey was a productive pass catcher and run-blocker with the Hawkeyes in ‘24. He and Theo Johnson would compete for the starting job.
- Darien Porter is a tall and rangy cornerback coming off an excellent senior campaign. The 6’4” corner came down with 3 INTs and scored a 90.0 Coverage Grade, according to PFF College, as he was targeted just 16 times all season. Already at 24 years old, Porter may be on the older side of the NFL Draft, but he should be able to replace DJ Reed as the Jets’ #2 outside corner opposite of Sauce Gardner immediately.
5th Round
- Savion Williams is scary once he gets the ball in his hands. At 6’5” with 4.48 40-time speed, Williams possesses rare traits that make him comparable to Cordarrelle Patterson. In ‘24, TCU featured Williams as both a pass catcher and a running back, totaling 933 yards with 12 combined TDs. While he has the talent to make circus catches, the Bullfrog playmaker also had 8 drops last season, which may have teams pinning him for a role as a gadget player rather than outside WR. Hollin Pierce would be a local pick coming from Rutgers. After walking on as a freshman that weighed over 400 lbs., Pierce worked his ass off to get down to 350 pounds and has experience playing both tackle positions. At 6’8” with 4 years of starting experience, Pierce allowed just 5 career sacks in 1,500 passing blocking snaps with the Scarlett Knights.
- Sticking with the offensive line theme for the New York Giants. Seth McLaughlin enjoyed an excellent season with the Buckeyes before he suffered a torn Achilles tendon in late November. After 2 seasons of starting experience at ‘Bama, McLaughlin never once allowed a quarterback sack as a center in College. Also, it's a bit of a continuity play pairing Donovan Jackson with McLaughlin.
6th Round
- Doubling down on the Jets Defensive Line with Aeneas Peebles in the 6th Round. At 290 lbs., Peebles may be undersized as an interior lineman in the NFL, but he has excellent pass rush skills and makes up for it with great leverage. After developing into a standout at Duke, Peebles was an All-American in his lone season at Virginia Tech, as he had 6.5 TFLs with 3 sacks in ‘24. As for Kurtis Rourke, the 4-year collegiate starter has nearly 50 games under his belt between Ohio and Indiana. With a career TD to INT ratio near 4 to 1, Rourke is a risk-adverse passer with toughness. In ‘22, Rourke threw a career-high 25 passing TDs as he played through a torn ACL. Last season, he transferred to the Hoosiers and, out of nowhere, led the Big Ten in yards per attempt (10.62) while leading Indiana into the College Football Playoff. While Rourke may not have a top-tier elite arm, he plays smart, and his quick release is a bit like Philip Rivers-lite.
7th Round
- Rylie Mills was an effective 3-year starter and captain for the Notre Dame Fightin’ Irish. In 13 starts in ‘24, Mills had a career-high 8.5 TFLs with 7.5 sacks from the interior line. At 6’5” and 290, Mills has plenty of size to play the Giants’ 3-4 scheme as a defensive end. Mills was injured during the College Football Playoff and missed the Irish’s 2nd Place run. Due to the knee injury, Mills hasn’t been able to participate in the NFL Combine and may not be 100% ready by next fall. As a late-round flier recovering from injury, getting a rotational lineman with starting potential seems like a solid move for the G-Men. With their final pick, Shilo Sanders would be a bit of fun. While Sanders lacks elite ball skills like his father, he is a much harder hitter than Deion. Colorado used Sanders as a free safety, box safety, and in the slot. In the NFL, Shilo Sanders may be best suited in bulking up on an NFL diet to see if he can get a role as an in-the-box safety. For a 7th Round pick, Sanders would bring a bit of attitude and would have a chip on his shoulder- not bad traits this late in the NFL Draft.

Treysen Eaglestaff, G, North Dakota
Treysen Eaglestaff is from Bismarck, North Dakota. The ‘21-’22 Mr. Basketball in North Dakota set scoring records at Bismarck High School while averaging 30.3 points per game as a senior. Treysen Eaglestaff decided to play for his home state and has family ties to North Dakota as his granduncle, Robert Eaglestaff, also played for the Fighting Hawks in the 1970s. As a freshman with ND, Eaglestaff averaged 8.4 points per game while mostly coming off the bench. Last season, the 6’6” guard became a starter for North Dakota as his scoring production improved to 14.4 points per game. Now a junior, Treysen Eaglestaff has continued to improve on his scoring; he’s averaged a career-best 18.9 points per game. Early in the season, the sharpshooting guard made national news when he scored 40 points against Alabama. Then, last week, in the opening round of the Summit League Conference Tournament, Eaglestaff exploded for 51 points as he knocked down 8 3-pointers to go with 13 free throws. Unfortunately, North Dakota would get bounced the very next day in a loss to St. Thomas, but nonetheless, Treysen Eaglestaff became just the 4th player in North Dakota history to score 50+ points, joining the likes of Phil Jackson, who scored 50+ points twice with North Dakota back in the day.
Nique Clifford, F, Colorado State
Nique Clifford is from Colorado Springs, Colorado. He attended Vanguard School, where a 5-inch growth spurt between his sophomore and junior seasons helped him earn 2-straight All-State selections as an upperclassman while being recognized as the 2020 Colorado State Player of the Year 2020. Nique Clifford’s first college stop was at Colorado University. From ‘20 to ‘23, Clifford made in 82 games for the Buffaloes as a role player, averaging 5.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. After 3 seasons with Colorado, Clifford decided to transfer to their in-state rival at Colorado State. Last season, Clifford’s production jumped to 12.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3 assists per game as he took on more of a prominent role with the Rams. After earning 3rd Team All-Mountain West recognition in ‘23-’24, Clifford has once again improved his game. The 5th-year senior is averaging career highs with 18.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. Last Friday night, Nique Clifford scored a career-high 36 points in the Rams’ win over Boise State. After finishing their season 2nd in the Mountain West, Colorado State is considered a bubble team that could use a nice run in their conference tournament to ensure a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
Mark Sears, G, Alabama
Mark Sears is from Muscle Shoals, Alabama. As a senior in high school, Sears transferred to Hargrave Military Academy, where he averaged 14 points, 3 assists, and 5 rebounds per game. Initially a 3-star prospect out of high school, Sears chose to play for Ohio University. After a freshman season where he came off the bench to average 8.5 points and 3.4 assists per game, Sears earned a starting role in ‘21-’22. As a sophomore, his points jumped to 19.6 per game as he shot 41% from 3. After his All-MAC First Team recognition, Sears transferred to Alabama in ‘22. During his first season with the Tide, Mark Sears averaged 12.5 points per game as more of a combo guard. Last season, Sears shifted over to their primary ball-handler and once again saw a rise in his scoring output (21.5 ppg). Sears was named a 2nd Team All-American as he led ‘Bama to the Final Four. Now a 5th-year senior, Mark Sears has once again set up Alabama for a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. This season, Sears is averaging 19.2 points and 5 assists per game. On Saturday, the crafty veteran lefty point guard hit a buzzer-beating OT floater to defeat the #1 ranked Auburn Tigers.
Jacob Ognacevic, F, Lipscomb
Jacob Ognacevic is from Sheboygan, Wisconsin. After starting high school as a 5’10” 8th grader, Ognacevic had a 4-year growth spurt shooting him up to 6’8” by the time he was a finalist for Wisconsin Mr. Basketball. As a senior at Luterhan High School, Ognacevic averaged 39.4 points and 16 rebounds per game. His stop in college was at Valparaiso, where he came off the bench to average 6.3 points and 2 rebounds per game while shooting 52% from beyond the arc. After one season with the Beacons, Ognacevic transferred to Lipscomb University in ‘21. During his sophomore season, Ognacevic increased his stat line to 11.2 points and 4 rebounds per game. However, it would be his junior year when Jacob Ognacevic finally cracked the regular starting lineup with Lipscomb, and the results followed. The power forward from Wisconsin was named to the ASUN 1st Team All-Conference as he averaged 17.7 points per game while shooting an ultra-efficient 61% from the floor. After a breakout season in ‘23, Ognacevic suffered a knee injury that forced him out for the whole year as a medical redshirt. Now a senior at Lipscomb, Ognacevic overcame the injury by averaging a career-best 20.3 points with 8.1 rebounds per game. Not only was Ognacevic able to lead Lipscomb to a regular season title, but he helped clinch the Bisons' ticket into March as they won the ASUN Conference Tournament, too. The 5th-year senior is one of just 22 players this season to average 20+ points per game and will certainly have Lipscomb as a possible Cinderella team later in March.
