Today’s tune on this Mock Draft Monday is Tuesday by Makonnen, featuring Drake.
Makonnen’s original song was Club Goin’ Up On A Tuesday. Drake added a remix to it and shortened the title to just Tuesday. The song peaked at #12 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Since Tuesday, haven’t heard much from Makonnen, who has changed his name to IloveMakonnen.
This song actually predates Back To Back by about a year. Drake’s latest album, which was released this month, was with PARTY(Next Door) referenced. The Weeknd collaborated with Drake on Take Care, but the two Toronto artists haven’t been on good terms lately.
Anyway, on to the sports….
NFL Rounds 1 & 2 Mock (Version 1.2)
(1st Round Mock Draft from last week is below.)
Round 2
- After finding Myles Garrett’s replacement in Abdul Carter, Cleveland kicks off a run on QBs. Kyle McCord was set loose during his lone season at Syracuse. He led the nation in passing yards in ‘24 and was particularly great at throwing deep balls. His 41 completions of 20+ yards were the most in the country. Picking McCord signals the Browns are ready to move on from the Deshaun Watson error.
- Wyatt Milum is a 4-year starter for the Mountaineers, with elite experience at both tackle positions. With Andrew Thomas essentially on a 2-year deal, Evan Neal better off playing inside, and Jermaine Eluemunor likely not the long-term answer at tackle, Milum fills the Giants’ long-term tackle need to keep their new franchise QB upright.
- It could just be the uniform, but Tre Harris looks like a blend of DK Metcalf and AJ Brown from their days at Ole Miss. In a stacked WR class, Harris has the potential to be a star. He was Jaxson Dart’s favorite option in Lane Kiffin’s offense.
- Jaguars snag the local school product to protect Sunshine. After sitting behind the Georgia Bulldogs’ immense offensive line talent, Clay Webb has starred the past 3 seasons at Jacksonville State. Webb allowed just 3 total sacks in 900 passing situations at Jacksonville State and should be able to plug into the Jags’ interior O-Line.
- Quinn Ewers was never quite consistent enough to dominate College Football, which drops him just outside the 1st Round with Las Vegas. Pete Carroll can have Ewers, AOC, and possibly Russ Wilson compete for who starts at QB for the 4th place team in the AFC West.
- The Patriots gotta protect Drake Maye. Going with Will Campbell and Hollin Pierce doubles down on that. Evil Hoodie used to use Rutgers as a pipeline.
- Chicago nearly got Caleb Williams killed. Just like the Pats, Kelvin Banks Jr. and Armand Memou doubles down on protection.
- With Derek Carr set to be cut, Jalen Milroe and Spencer Rattler compete for the QB1 job in New Orleans. Milroe flashed greatness at times with ‘Bama. He has a cannon for an arm and can elite speed, but he lacks the passing accuracy to be a 1st Rounder.
- Not only did the Bears nearly get Caleb Williams killed last year, but both of his guards and center are set to become free agents. Dylan Fairchild has been an elite pass-blocking guard the past 2 seasons as the Georiga Bulldogs’ starting LG.
- The Jets throw a dart at the Canadian College QB in Taylor Elgersma. While he may not have played against top talent, Elgersma’s tape sorta looks like Josh Allen’s from his time at Wyoming. Tall, athletic, cannon for an arm, playing in quarter-filled stadiums, maybe the Jets finally find their guy.
- After 10 straight offensive players go to start the 2nd Round, the Niners land their 2nd defensive lineman steal with Derrick Harmon. The Oregon Duck defender could be a replacement for potential free agent DT Javon Hargrave.
- Donovan Ezeiruaku finished 2nd in all of the land in sacks with 16.5 in ‘24. While it being his only season of elite production bumps him outside the 1st Round, Jerry Jones & Co. gets another speed rusher to pair opposite Micah Parsons.
- Indy revamps their pass defense by adding an elite cover CB in Benjamin Morrison with their 1st Pick and a sideline-to-sideline-plus pass-coverage linebacker in Carson Schwesinger. The UCLA product is also a bioengineering major and seems very smart, so maybe he can convince Andrew Luck to come out of retirement.
- Mike Green led College Football in sacks in ‘24 with 17 on the season. Falcons go back-to-back defensive picks after taking offensive skill position guys with their #1 pick in 4 straight NFL Drafts.
- Arizona pairs Nic Scourton, an extremely talented edge rusher, with a workhorse position-less defensive lineman in Ashton Gillotte.
- Miami takes Oronde Gadsden Jr., whose father played with Dan Marino in his later seasons. The Syracuse TE is a matchup nightmare and a better-receiving threat than Jonnu Smith.
- The Bengals’ NB Mike Hilton is set to be a free agent, and both their starting safeties (Geno Stone & Jordan Battle) were subpar in coverage. Jahdae Barron of Texas has plenty of experience working in the slot and is versatile enough to play safety as well.
- With two of Seattle’s defensive tackles (Jarran Reed & Jonathan Hankins) set to be free agents, Deone Walker makes sense as a replacement. Seattle took at DT in Byron Murphy II and already has Leonard Williams under contract, so adding Walker would make for a formidable front.
- The Denver Broncos don’t have a massive need on the defensive side of the football, but Nick Emmanwori could step in as a Day 1 starter at strong safety. Emmanwori is an extremely sound tackler (only missed 7% of tackles past 2 seasons at SC) with good ball skills (6 INTs, 8 PBUs past 2 seasons at SC).
- Not sure exactly who will be throwing the football in Pittsburgh, but they always seem to draft productive WRs outside the 1st Round. Emeka Egbuka doesn’t have the most upside in this draft class but is as close to a sure thing in terms of being able to contribute as a slot WR.
- If Tampa Bay can’t retain Chris Godwin, Matthew Golden can fill the role as a versatile slot WR. While Golden won’t command the same type of targets, Mayfield will like his deep-threat ability.
- The Green Bay Packers have one starter on offense, C Josh Meyers, set to be a free agent. Jacob Gardner has 5 seasons of starting experience at Left Tackle and Center, plus he was graded out as the nation’s top center by PFF College.
- After taking Colston Loveland in the 1st Round, the Chargers seek another tough playmaker in Cam Skatteo as JK Dobbins’ replacement. Seems like a Harbaugh guy.
- Buffalo could never get Amari Cooper fully up to speed in their offense, so that might’ve been a one-and-done trade. Cooper and Mack Hollins are set to become free agents, so they technically only have three on their current roster. Jack Bech plays WR almost like a TE. He would certainly fill the red zone role that Hollins was very effective at with Josh Allen in ‘24.
- The Panthers land a pass rusher in Antwaun Powell-Ryland after finishing in the bottom 5 in team sacks in ‘24. Powell-Ryland was 3rd in sacks in CFB in ‘24, a speed rusher with 2 seasons of plus production.
- With Stefan Diggs set to be a free agent coming off an injury and Tank Dell missing the end of 2 straight seasons, Houston needs to get CJ Stroud a reliable #2 WR across from Nico Collins. Tai Felton had a breakout season as a senior at Maryland and has a similar playing style as Diggs, who happened to be a Terp in his college days too.
- Elic Ayomanor seems like a Nico Collins-Lite. His height and good hands would give the Baltimore offense a different sort of WR to compliment Zay Flowers.
- Detroit takes Shavon Ravel Jr. toward the end of the 2nd Round. Ravel Jr. has the size, speed, and playmaking ability, the only thing dropping him here is he is coming off a torn ACL season.
- Washington gets Jayden Daniels a secondary piece to pair with Terry McLaurin. Xavier Restrepo has two 1,000+ receiving yard campaigns under his belt at Miami and was Cam Ward’s favorite target out of the slot. He’d replace Noah Brown.
- Buffalo takes the local SUNY Buffalo product to man the middle of their defense. Shaun Dolac finished with 168 total tackles in ‘24, the most in the nation. However, he wasn’t just a run stuffer; Dolac also caught 5 interceptions in coverage and came up with 6 sacks while blitzing. The former walk-on to star linebacker would be the right long-term successor to Matt Milano in the middle of the Bills defense.
- Whether Travis Kelce is retiring or not, the Kansas City Chiefs seem adamant that his role will be slightly reduced. While that likely means a larger role for Noah Gray, in this scenario, KC makes a long-term pick at TE. Harold Fannin Jr., out of Bowling Green, led the entire College Football landscape in catches (117) and receiving yards (1,555). A WR in a TE’s body, Fannin Jr. lined up Out Wide or in the Slot on over 50% of his snaps last season. Could be a versatile playmaker with YAC ability whether Kelce is back or not.
- If the Super Bowl Champions have one question mark entering the ‘25 season, it may be at linebacker. With Zack Baun set to test the free agent market and Nakobe Dean suffering another knee injury, Danny Stutsman is the pick to close out the 2nd Round. Stutsman is a 2-time All-American and an elite run-defender with a very similar build to Baun.

Nate Bittle, C, Oregon
Nathan Bittle is from Central Point, Oregon. As a consensus 5-star recruit, Bittle played for Crater High School and Prolific Prep before earning a 2021 McDonald’s All-American bid. Nate Bittle became the highest-rated recruit in Oregon basketball program history to choose to play for the Ducks. After a freshman season where he rode the bench in ‘22, Nate Bittle earned a starting role as a sophomore, averaging 7.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. With big expectations to follow up his promising sophomore campaign, Bittle was riddled with injury and illness as a junior. He could only play 5 games before missing out on the Ducks’ March Madness. Nate Bittle returned this season determined to earn back his spot. The senior center is averaging career-highs with 13.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game. Not only is Bittle quite a presence in Oregon’s paint, but he can also step beyond the arc and hit at a 33% rate from 3. After losing 5 straight in the Big Ten, the Oregon Ducks have fought back to win 4 in a row, giving them a shot at reaching the NCAA Tournament. During their recent 4-game winning streak, Bittle has stepped up to average 18 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks per game. If Bittle can continue to play at this pace, it would go a long way toward giving Oregon some leeway with the NCAA Tournament committee.
Marquel Sutton, F, Omaha
Marquel Sutton is from Tulsa, Oklahoma. He attended high school at Tulsa Will Rogers, where he averaged 20 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks as an All-State senior. Sutton’s first stop out of high school was the JUCO rout at Connors State College. In his lone season at CSC, Sutton put up 16.6 points and 9.1 boards per game before transferring to Omaha University. As a sophomore, Sutton was immediately inserted into the Omaha starting lineup as he averaged 10.3 points and 5 rebounds per game. The 6’8” power forward then followed up his D1 debut season with 12.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game his junior year. After two seasons as the #2 guy, Marquel Sutton is now the Mavericks’ leading scorer (18.7 ppg) and rebounder (7.5 rpg). In their latest win over the weekend, the explosive forward scored a career-high 36 points with 12 rebounds. Sutton and Omaha are currently in 1st Place in the Summit League with only one more regular season matchup against Oral Roberts before the start of their conference tournament. The Omaha Mavericks have only been a D1 basketball program since 2012 and have not yet made an NCAA Tournament.
Jalen Sullinger, G, Kent State
Jalen Sullinger is from Columbus, Ohio. He played his high school hoops at Thomas Worthington HS, averaging 17.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game in his final season before COVID. Sullinger has spent all 4 seasons of college at Kent State. During his freshman year in ‘21-’22, Sullinger came off the bench to average 4 points per game. He earned more of a role as a sophomore as he won the 6th Man of the Year in the MAC with his 8.6 points per game. Last season, the lefty combo guard took over a starting role with the Golden Flashes, increasing his scoring output to 15.4 points per game. As a senior this season, Sullinger is averaging 14.6 points per game while shooting 87.1% from the free-throw line. Last week, in Kent State’s win over Bowling Green, Sullinger tied his career-high with 32 points as he went 15 for 15 from the charity stripe. Jalen Sullinger and Kent State are currently 5th in the MAC with an 18-9 record. The last time Kent State went on a March Madness run past the 1st Round was in 2002 when Antonio Gates reached the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament before deciding to play Tight End for the San Diego Chargers.
Brian Moore Jr., G, Norfolk State
Brian Moore Jr. is from Harlem, New York. He played high school prep basketball at Kingston, where he was a 1,000+ career scorer. Moore Jr.’s first stop out of high school was at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. As a freshman at NOA&M, Moore Jr. was named a JUCO All-American as he averaged 21.3 points and 5.2 assists per game. In ‘22, he decided to transfer to Murray State. During his 2 seasons with the Racers, Moore Jr. averaged 8.6 points per game while entering in and out of the starting lineup. This past offseason, Brian Moore Jr. decided to transfer once more to Norfolk State. With the Spartans this season, Moore Jr. averages 18.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. The New York guard knows how to slash to the rim but is also hitting on 41% of his 3-point attempts. Earlier in February, Moore Jr. banked in a buzzer-beating runner from beyond the arc to give the Spartans a win over NC Central. Norfolk State is currently on a 7-game winning streak and, at 19-8, is in first place in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The program has reached the NCAA Tournament 3 times in the past 15 years. Their most notable March Madness appearance came in 2012, when, as the #15 seed, they upset #2 Missouri. The 2012 Norfolk State team was led by another New Yorker, Kyle O’Quinn, who played for the Knicks in the NBA.
