Today’s tune is Drake’s Grammys featuring Future. It’s the 13th track off his album Views, since I gotta follow the Drake albums in chronological order because I’m too lazy to pick a song every Monday.
This reminded me to look up when the Grammys actually are. February 1st. Also found out the difference between the Golden Globes (TV) and the Oscars (movies films), but then what’s an Emmy? Very confusing.

Genesis Smith, S, Arizona
Genesis Smith is from Chandler, Arizona. He attended Hamilton High School, where he played on the varsity team for 3 seasons. In 24 high school games, Smith had 103 tackles and 16 interceptions. A 3-star recruit, Smith chose to play for his home-state school, the University of Arizona. As a true freshman in ‘23, Smith contributed as a defensive depth and special teamer. He made 24 tackles and caught his first career collegiate interception. As a sophomore in ‘24, Smith earned a starting role on the Wildcats’ defense, producing 63 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, 3 INTs, 6 pass deflections, and two forced fumbles while primarily playing slot safety. This past season, Smith retained his starting role but was used more as a free safety and graded out as one of the best in coverage. He made 77 tackles, 3 TFLs, caught one interception, broke up 8 passes, and forced two fumbles. At 6’2” with plenty of range, Genesis Smith projects as a centerfield type of safety.
Zxavian Harris, DT, Ole Miss
Zxavian Harris is from Canton, Mississippi. He attended Germantown High School, where he was a four-star prospect. Harris decided to play for his home state at Ole Miss. As a freshman with the Rebels in ‘22, Harris earned a limited amount of snaps as defensive depth and a special teamer. He finished his first season with 3 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and a blocked field goal. As a sophomore in ‘23, Harris earned a starting role as he notched 30 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, a sack, and his three blocked kicks led the SEC. During his junior year in ‘24, Harris had 32 tackles, 4.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and yet another blocked kick. This season as a senior was Harris’ best year yet as he finished with 58 tackles, 9 TFLs, 3 sacks, an interception, and he blocked his 6th career kick. At 6’8” and 330+ lbs., Harris is a mammoth of a man. While Harris may need some seasoning to start on an NFL defensive line, he’ll immediately be a very useful special teams player on field goal attempts.
Chase Bisontis, OG, Texas A&M
Chase Bisontis is from Ramsey, New Jersey. He attended Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey, where he was the state’s #1 recruit and tabbed with 4-star status. As a freshman with the Aggies in ‘23, Bisontis had an immediate impact, starting all 13 games on the right side of their offensive line. The true freshman allowed four sacks, but was named a ‘23 ESPN Freshman All-American. As a sophomore in ‘24, Bisontis flipped to the left side of the Aggies’ offensive line at Left Guard. In his new position, he allowed just one sack and no QB Hits. This past season, as a junior, Chase Bisontis returned to Left Guard and again allowed only one sack all year. The 6’5” and 315 lbs. interior lineman was named 3rd Team All-SEC. Both the Jets and Giants could use some interior help, so expect the local kid to be a target in the middle rounds of the NFL Draft come this spring.
Akheem Mesidor, EDGE, Miami
Akheem Mesidor is from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He attended the Royal Imperial Collegiate of Canada before finishing high school at Clearwater Academy in Florida. His collegiate career began at West Virginia in ‘20. As a true freshman, he was recognized as a Freshman All-American with 32 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, and 5 sacks. During his sophomore year in ‘21, Mesidor was 3rd Team All-Big 12 with 38 tackles, 8 TFLs, and 4.5 sacks while playing nose tackle. After two years with the Mountaineers, Mesidor transferred to Miami. He immediately had an impact with the ‘Canes in ‘22, returning to the edge while earning an All-ACC honorable mention with 38 tackles, 10.5 TFLs, and 7 sacks. His ‘23 season was lost due to injury, so he returned as a redshirt senior in ‘24. Last season, Mesidor had 32 tackles, 9 TFLs, and 5.5 sacks. This season, he was granted super senior status because his freshman year was during COVID. Playing alongside Rueben Bain Jr., Mesidor has made 60 tackles with 10.5 sacks and 15.5 TFLs in ‘25. He’ll play a key role against Indiana in the National Championship. In terms of his NFL prospects, the Canadian defensive lineman has pro talent, but may slide into Night 2 of the NFL Draft due to his age.
Josiah Trotter, LB, Missouri
Josiah Trotter is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His father, Jeremiah Trotter Sr., was an All-American linebacker who had a great NFL career and is in the Eagles Hall of Fame. His older brother, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., was also an All-American linebacker at Clemson and won a Super Bowl with the Eagles during his rookie season last year. Josiah Trotter attended Saint Joseph’s Prep, where in his senior year he recorded 75 tackles, two forced fumbles, three sacks, and an interception despite missing a quarter of the season due to injury. His knee injury from high school held him out for the ‘23 season at West Virginia. Trotter returned to the gridiron as a redshirt freshman in ‘24 and was certainly prepared. He won the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year, recording 92 tackles, 4 TFLs, and an interception. After his one season at WVU, Trotter transferred to Missouri in ‘25. The redshirt sophomore had an excellent season for the Tigers, earning 1st Team All-SEC recognition. Trotter had 84 tackles, 13 TFLs, and 2 sacks, as one of the best run-defending linebackers in the conference. With two excellent seasons of college ball and the NFL in his blood, Josiah Trotter has declared to go pro. With an offseason of preparation, Trotter can likely go into Night 2 of the NFL Draft.
Here’s a quick bit about five College Basketball players this season…
Malik Reneau, PF, Miami
Malik Reneau is from Miami, Florida. He attended Montverde Academy a couple of years before Cooper Flagg, Derik Queen, and Asa Newell. Reneau led Montverde Academy to back-to-back High School National Championships while averaging 11.9 points and 6.6 rebounds as a senior. His collegiate career began at Indiana. In three seasons with the Hoosiers, Reneau averaged 11.4 points and 5 rebounds per game. During his sophomore and junior years, the power forward was an Honorable Mention for the All-Big Ten Team. This past spring, Malik Reneau transferred back home to Miami. The senior Hurricane is averaging a career-high 20.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and a block per game. Most of his points come in the paint as he’s an exceptional offensive rebounder and high-flying dunker.
Duke Miles, Vanderbilt, PG
Duke Miles is from Montgomery, Alabama. He attended Robert E. Lee High School, where, in four seasons, the floor general led them to a 112-17 career record. During his senior season in high school, Miles averaged 17.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.1 steals per game while winning a state championship. His collegiate career began at Troy University. In three seasons at Troy, Miles averaged 9.2 points and 3.1 assists per game, but played only 49 games due to injuries, earning a medical redshirt his junior year after playing only six games. In ‘23-’24, Miles transferred to High Point, where he was able to stay healthy while breaking out at the Big South’s Newcomer of the Year with 17.5 points per game. Last season, Duke Miles transferred to Oklahoma, where he started every game and averaged 9.4 points, hitting 43% from beyond the arc. Due to his COVID year of eligibility, Miles was granted another season of collegiate eligibility and used it to transfer to Vanderbilt. With the Commodores, the super senior is averaging 17.2 points, 4.4 assists, and 2.9 steals per game. Under his leadership, Vandy is off to a perfect 16-0 record.
Brant Byers, SG, Miami (Ohio)
Brant Byers is from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. During his senior year at Perkiomen High School, Byers led his team to a state championship season. After redshirting in ‘23-’24, Byers became the Miami (OH) RedHawks’ 6th Man his freshman season last year. Off the bench, Byers averaged 8.4 points while drilling 3-pointers at a 41% rate. He was impressive enough to be named MAC Freshman of the Year. This season, Miami (OH) is off to a perfect 17-0 start to their season, with Byers scoring a team-high. The sophomore shooting guard is averaging 15.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while hitting on 43% from 3-point range. Expect Miami (OH) to be a popular NCAA Tournament mid-major Cinderella team come March, with Brant Byers leading the way.
Henri Veesaar, C, North Carolina
Henri Veesaar is from Tallinn, Estonia. His mother, Pille Veesaar, was a world-class ping pong player. Veesaar grew up playing basketball in Real Madrid’s youth program and represented Estonia on the Senior National Team in 2021. He decided to come to the U.S. for College Basketball once he turned 18. His first stop in America was at the University of Arizona. As a freshman with the Wildcats, Veesaar was a bench big man who averaged just 2.4 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. The following season in ‘23-’24, Veesaar dislocated his elbow and missed the entire year with a medical redshirt. He returned to the Wildcats last season as the team’s 6th Man, averaging 9.4 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game. This past spring, the European 7-footer transferred to the Tar Heels. As UNC’s starting center, Veesaar is averaging career-highs with 16.9 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Not only does he have a nice post game, but if opponents leave Veesaar alone, he’s hitting 3-pointers at a 51% clip. The skilled big man will be a player to watch come March Madness.
