Tonight’s Week 10 Thursday Night Football matchup features the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens. After an 0-3 start, the Bengals have somewhat straightened things out going 4-2 since. The Ravens on the other hand got off to an 0-2 start and are winners of 6 of their last 7.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow and Ravens QB Lamar Jackson are both tied for 2nd in TD passes thrown with 20. Burrow threw 5 touchdowns on Sunday, the 2nd time this season he’s done so in a game this year and never having more than 4 throughout his career. Surprisingly among his 5 TDs on Sunday, none were scored by WR Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins was out. In 7 career games against the Ravens, Chase has averaged 6.7 catches for 99.7 yards and has scored 5 times. Earlier this season in Week 5 against Baltimore, Chase scored 2 TDs on 10 catches for 193 yards. The Ravens are the worst in the NFL in passing yards allowed this season, allowing 280.9 yards per game. They’ve been burned by their opponents’ top WR1s all season, so expect Chase to find paydirt. The Bengals will likely be without Tee Higgins, who’s doubtful with a quad.
Lamar Jackson holds a 5-1 record against Joe Burrow. In Jackosn’s last 3 games, the 2-time MVP is passing the ball as efficiently as ever with 10 TDs (zero INTs) while averaging 283.3 passing yards with a 71% completion percentage. Last Sunday he only rushed for 4 yards, the 2nd fewest amount of yards he’s ever had in a game. The Baltimore ground game was instead led by Derrick Henry, who rushed eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards on the season just 9 games in. Henry has rushed for 100 or more yards in 5 games and has scored a TD through the ground or air in every game. Thursday Night Football can get pretty weird so I’ll take the Bengals in a high-scoring affair.
Prediction: 27-26 CIN (+6 CIN & Over 52)

R: My favorite Yankees: Judge, Volpe, and Cole lost game 5 - all in one inning. So incredibly painful. I will speak of this World Series no more.
Agreed, the 5th inning was a nightmare. Still processing it and they need Soto back first but one takeaway is they need more young gamers at 1B, 2B, LF/4th outfielder. Also if Judge has Hal’s ear, I’m not sure how he’ll have much say on the roster rest of his career.
R: Opening next year without Soto and an aging roster would be brutal.
Forget Soto - we need to sign this guy.

R: How??? I think Ulbrich stinks and Saleh was probably the D coordinator. So we kept the guy who can’t do either.

Sauce will sit in the trainer’s room until half after getting embarrassed this drive.
R: Yup, bad team. Sauce getting exposed this year. He needs to stop with X and video games.
That whole drive was on Sauce. He gave up a 1st down play before and then had a chance to tackle Mixon at the goal line.
R: And then tapped out even with the other CB is out with a concussion. At least we haven’t missed a FG yet. Rogers to Adams = sucks
D: Why is he even on the team? So ridiculous.
R: We just got shut out in the first half. And it’s not even surprising. Sad.
D: Interviews with Ulbrich are always hilarious. They’re like “coach, your team is a complete disaster and keeps getting called for penalties and making terrible plays. What has to change?” And he just says “We’ve gotta get it cleaned up. Not acceptable”
R: I’m sure he thinks that. But has no idea how to fix it. Team stinks.
D: I feel bad for him. Really a lose-lose situation.
R: Garrett Wilson is really good. Deserves better. Extra point good - let’s go !!!!! Not getting political, but there are so many democrats that make me glad I don’t vote for democrats. But Woody does the opposite.

R: I think so and now we kick fg’s. “The worm has f’ing turned” - Joe Torre. Wilson > Beckham (my debate with LG and Goody).
R: That was fun. We don’t see plays like that unless we watch other games - or it’s against. Us. 7-1 rest of the way.

Richardson can’t stay healthy and has only played like 20 games since high school but has a lot of talent. Would be surprised if Indy traded him tho

R: Good player, may have been on roids but he was good. 1st stint with the Yanks didn’t end well - he left saying something like “I don’t like it here, all they want to do I win”. Yikes. Came back at the end of his career as a role player and helped. I hope he knows something.

Go Jets, sign Soto!
Today’s Critiquing the Critics is Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. The original 1997 film was written and starred by Michael Myers. The budget for the movie was $18 million and it brought back $67.6 million worldwide at the box office. While that’s a healthy margin, it was the 2nd and 3rd films that racked in the majority of the franchise’s profits.
Myers came up with the Austin Powers character doing a bit for a faux 1960s band called Ming Tea. Although he grew up in Canada, his parents were British and his father raised him on James Bond films.
Dr. Evil was originally supposed to be played by Jim Carrey, however, he was too busy with Liar Liar. Thus, Myers ended up playing multiple roles, which makes the movie that much better. The fact he played both the good and bad guy might be the best bit of the whole film. The character Dr. Evil is supposedly loosely based on Lorne Michaels, the creator of Saturday Night Live.
Will Ferrell was on the SNL cast since 1995, but the 1997 film was his debut on the big screen.
Last but not least, Liz Hurley was amazing in this film. Not sure how she didn’t earn an Oscar for her portrayal of Vanessa Kensington. There have always been rumors of Myers eventually bringing back Austin Powers for a 4th film and while nothing is official, Hurley has said she’d be open to revitalizing the role.
