Alright @YouTheReader, we’ll skip the whole intro paragraph and get to the point. Whatever is on your mind, sports, music, movies, shows, life, etc. There are so many of you die-hard fans of all things who know what you're talking about, so this Thursday spot could only help. I love Thursday's spot because in a way it’s a reset of the week in Week to Week Notes.
@YouTheReader your default setting for His or Her Words, Not Mine is a team/sport/topic “fan insider.” All you have to do is send over a resume, cover letter, a form of ID, and 3 references. If you wish to come up with your own @Name, I’ll run with that so that other @YouTheReaders could also start to get to know your style. Either way, I won’t tell no one your name. Unless you want your name on Week to Week Notes.
Anonymous #GuinnessChallengeSeason
This Guinness pint was sent my way from Welly’s Restaurant in Marlborough, Massachusetts. From the looks of it, this pint has some rather thick shtick, which I prefer if you’re giving me the option of more or less…
…This was a post pint of the boys getting after it..,
…Good work guys… This next pint was from across the pond…
Never again x
Oooof @YouTheReader I’m not going to say anything mean about the Brits. We all know they can give it but can’t take it or wait actually it’s the other way around, but you know what I mean. The moral of the story is to only get the Guinness in London if it’s for P!nk, otherwise, pass.
While We’re Opening Up Across the Pond
The Mets and Phillies are in the MLB London next year. My source said that while there is some interest in the games in Europe she would only go to a game, “If the Blue Jays come and play I may go see them.” The Toronto Blue Jays’ flight clock to Europe is now ticking…
My Favorite Tweeter
My Favorite Tweeter, after taking a bit of a hiatus, is back coming for Kyrie Irving’s jugular. I was starting to get worried there for a minute.
Hey if they do get him and somehow keep Brunson Barrett, Randle, and they NEED to sign or trade for a lefty center. Might as well just only add lefties to the Knicks, that would be a fun experiment.
My Favorite Tweeter’s Response:
This is a goofy ass league now. Not my NBA. Stern would never.
You can quote that if I don’t Tweet it.
His Cousin’s Response when I asked him to explain it to me in NFL terms?
Playing for a mini Lombardi in the middle of the season. So stupid. I think Adam Silver is obsessed with how European soccer does multiple tournaments a year and wants to do something like that.
Yeah, I think they want to be the first to go global. These things are normal in Europe. All about $ but it’s going to be tough to sell here though. It also could make an NBA ring less important.
People are def going to laugh at it here at first. All about the money for sure.

Wow - I forgot Higgy caught that one too !!
Good for Higgy, those 2 were in minors together too so that’s gotta be pretty cool.
I thought he was already traded lol
The NBA is terrible
He is the WORST
He is the worst among a bunch of really bad ones. KD is not much better. And King James will be looking to do the same thing again in the next year or so if he keeps hanging around
I don’t know what or where this is, but it’s awesome
I might do this?
@YouTheReader Soto & Snell are both All-Star caliber talents. Snell will be a free agent after this season while Soto still has one more year of team control in ‘24.
The Pros: You could slot Soto in front or behind of a healthy Aaron Judge. No brainer is that 2 of the most lethal power bats would do major damage. Snell would be incentivized to pitch like a workhorse down the stretch.
The Cons: Jasson Dominguez could come back to haunt them. Austin Wells too, the Yanks need somebody to share Chicken Parm with Volpe.

Neil Everett, Suzy Kolber, Jalen Rose, Matt Hasselbeck, Keyshawn, Max Kellerman, and more are all gone from ESPN with McAfee set to join. Big shakeup.
Wow. Van Gundy too
I’m honestly not a huge fan of McAfee and feel like ESPN will neuter his show
Yeah, I’ve never really followed it either, but I like how they’re trying something new (midday). Maybe doing free flow like how the McAfee show is run and only an hour of debates could be something different.
If he can’t curse or drink beer not sure it’s gonna work.
McShay gone too
And yet Donaldson still not gone
Absurd

Sevy stinks.
Yup.
Volpe is on fire. He’s the only at-bats I find myself really caring about
Agreed. The vets are turrible
Yup
We need Judge.
Should they sign Dalvin Cook? To me, he’s a stud but I’d just up the asking price for MIA.
Let’s get a lot of good players. Yes. I think JD will figure out how to balance now vs. the future. IKF as a utility player is cool.
I was against signing Dalvin, but am now fine with it. I didn’t want him cuz I didn’t want to mess with Breece. But in the long run, this may help him.
Agreed didn’t think we needed him but wouldn’t be the worst just running the ball into the ground, let Rodgers throw elite 25 to 30 times in games they control. What random bullpen guy, long relief that could be a 5th, and bat does Cash trade for? (Sorry throwing out it out there just think it’s impossible to guess who they trade for every year) @YouTheReader I was drunk at this point.
Jets - just get good players - lots of them.
Yanks - Cash will say getting Rodon and Judge is like making great mid-season trade.

I agree
Who is that?
No idea. But it’s time for robot umps.
Ohtani is seriously a freak. I just looked at his stats… he is literally the best hitter in baseball this year. And is also a legit CY Young candidate.
7/3 ‘23
Makes no sense.
Really doesn’t make any sense.
Bronx Bader
He’s the man. I go back and forth on trying to re-sign him
This free agent class besides Ohtani kind of stinks, hope they keep him but he might get more somewhere else.
Sign Ohtani

This guy is a stud, but can’t stay healthy. If he can, he may be our left fielder by September.
Wow
7/5 ‘23
He seems like a real winner. Jeez
Awful. @YouTheReader Cordero is the 3rd Yankee to be suspended for domestic violence in the past 7 years. There has been very little information released about the details of what happened but the fact he is suspended for the remainder of the season is a terrible sign. Cut him.
Critiquing The Critics - American Pie
When American Pie came out in 1999, I was 5 years old, and obviously, I didn’t see it until around ‘04 (@YouTheReader my mom just spit out her coffee). That said, I do remember seeing a ton of advertising for this film and my parents must’ve forgotten to return it to Blockbuster because we had it on VCR. This movie was always taboo for me so when I did finally see it my virgin eyes & ears had no idea what most of the jokes or plot was really about, but my main takeaway was that high school seemed fun. They may have gotten carried away a little with the likes of Naked Mile etc. but the original and American Pie 2 are labeled as American classics in Week to Week Notes books. The cast was awesome. For most of them, it was their first film and Eugene Levy was made for the father role.
Here are some fast facts about the film. During the screenplay, the title of the movie was Untitled Teenage Sex Comedy That Can Be Made For Under $10 Million That Most Readers Will Probably Hate But I Think You Will Love. Once in production they temporarily titled it Great Falls. Stifler (Seann William Scott) only made $8k for his role in the original film. Eugene Levy was given a ton of leeway to improvise the dialogue with Jason Biggs, which made it that much more awkwardly funny. Lastly, the American Pie was simply purchased at Costco. Alright, I could go on & on but let’s see what some of the critics had to say…
This one time, at band camp… Ahh never mind Felix, the people have forgotten all about American Pie.
James V, just adding more to my disdain for Boston.
I would love to get Margaret’s take on the internet in ‘23 if she thinks this was soft-core porn in ‘02. Actually, scratch that, I don’t really care.
Double-whammy dissing “There’s Something About Mary”, that ain’t right.
I’d say the characters lasted a while. The music drabbed? What the hell is Lawrence Toppman on? One Week, Semi-Charmed Life, Mutt, and Flagpole Sitta are all very much memorable in this film. Turrible take.
Good point, Kevin. It had been a while since Fast Times at Ridgemont High & Animal House.
