@YouTheReader before diving into this I would just like to shout out my own mother for being my first subscriber to Week to Week Notes. My aunts from Ireland, who share a Fringe Lunatics post on Facebook, which technically makes Week to Week Notes an international sports media publication. My grandma from the Bronx is always extremely helpful and a bit of a historian too. Oh yeah and @maggiedavishair for being my first advertiser. The concept for Week to Week Notes has always been for both females & males. Now let’s get right into it…
Little Miss I Hate NYC
So on Friday night before I went into the City for a few pints of Guinness, I received a comment out of nowhere from a non-bot. A rarity these days. Here was the exchange that got me canceled & ostracized from society.
Below is the post that was commented on.
In fairness, I think the NYC Fellas section is gold and doesn’t need tampering. @YouTheReaderWomen who read Week to Week Notes and at this point hopefully get my style of writing, any suggestions on how I can market to NYC Ladies? This is the internet so, if you’re not going to scream & shout into a selfie video about your account, I think you kind of need to have a written statement that stands out. I hate putting people into categories but here are the facts about Avid vs. Casual vs. Not a Fan at All…
Ripley’s believe it or not, the 48% of men and 19% of women who are already avid sports fans make up the same % of people I hope read Week to Week Notes. If you’re already an avid sports fan like myself, you already know there are thousands of options of ways to consume sports. I’d never be able to compete with people who do this for a living, they go too in-depth with statistics & such. I want Week to Week Notes readers to include both the 52% of men and 81% of women who consider themselves casual or no sports fans at all.
Not to get too oddly specific, but I remember years ago being at a Super Bowl party where one of the girls we hung out with brought up a sports fact that she was proud to share about knowing. My friends, all massive sports fans who know it all, scoffed at it thinking it was rather obvious. In reality, the girl is smarter than our group collectively, she just probably wasn’t interested in consuming the useless caveman information of sports that all diehard fans hate to admit to knowing. I hope one day a casual fan of sports goes to a game with a friend or significant other who is obsessed with sports, the avid fan says something like “Mad Max is on the hill today” and the casual fan (who just took 5 mins out of their day to search “Mad Max” in Week to Week Notes) respond, “ahh yes, Mad Max with 2 different color eyes. Did you know he was born in Chesterfield, Missouri, and grew up a St. Louis Cardinals fan…” @YouTheReader c’mon that would be a pretty funny bit.
On average women read twice as many books as men do, so I’d envision one day an account called @You_The_Reader would be at least a 50/50 split. (Source: Read Ability) I’ll admit I probably should have re-worded the “impress men” part, but maybe Week to Week Notes could weaponize women with some of the shrimp die-hard fans have picked up on from watching hours, days, weeks, and years of sports. I don’t know maybe that’s asking a lot, throw it up there on the list of lofty goals. I have no idea if this concept will ever work, but I believe in at least giving it a go!
Obviously, I know there are many women who know sports and that’s not what I was trying to imply. I would hope the majority of @YouTheReaderLadies know that I was only being a bit facetious, coming from the point of view of a village idiot, just like I was with the Fellas who drink coffee. On top of all of this, the concept of Week to Week Notes as a sports media publication is for there to be many different writers from many different perspectives, women obviously included. If not I’ll just have to make Week to Week Notes a He-Man Women Haters Club.
Not everybody is going to enjoy Week to Week Notes, so this really isn’t a big deal. The only thing that somewhat irritates me is that her comments are the only ones on a post that is pinned to the top of the page about Sports&Life.
@YouTheReader no I’m not going to delete her comments. She has every right to voice her opinion. We live in a society. Rules are rules. The young woman who commented on the post runs an extremely successful Philadelphia Food Ladies account which has over 40k followers. There is a ton of hard work behind the scenes that goes into running a business like that so the last thing I would want to do is disparage her in any way, even though she doesn’t seem to be a fan of NYC…
Just like Lil A OK, Little Miss Hates NYC & I, may never see eye to eye because I Love NY. C'est la vie. The world will keep on turning.
So in summation, one of the Philly Food Ladies commented on my post, doubled down after I wished her a nice weekend, liked @You_The_Reader story, and then blocked @You_The_Reader. Now I’m a member of the Walking Dead, but at least I can now use the song Bad Boy For Life.
Look I’m not perfect. I’ve never claimed to be. I’ll never know what it’s like to be a woman, but I understand it has its own ups & downs and us guys certainly don’t make it any easier for you. In all seriousness, it does kind of stink to think that this person felt offended by something I wrote but I genuinely didn’t mean it in the manner it may have conveyed. It was supposed to be a catchy tongue & cheek way of saying Week to Week Notes is meant for people who hate sports but want to feel included to the diehards who can’t get enough of watching people run around in matching clothes chasing after balls.
I’ve always thought women were truly fascinating creatures. Yes, I can call you ladies creatures now because I’ve already been canceled.
Happy Belated International Women's Day Ladies, you’ll always be welcomed on Week to Week Notes!

Instagram initially denied me from “Boosting” a Reel. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, Instagram gets to review what a professional account advertises. They claim that this “ad” to the link of Week to Week Notes (last week’s His or Her Words, Not Mine) didn’t comply with Our Unrealistic Outcomes policy. This ad isn’t running because it makes false, misleading, or deceptive claims. I guess they were thrown off by my request to the Iverson Classic. I requested a review and then @Zuck eventually accepted my $4 to market to NYC.
I’m going to take those words that Week to Week Notes doesn’t comply with their Unrealistic Outcomes policy to heart. I know that sounds ridiculous but c’mon live a little. It only adds another chip to my shoulder!
I’ve noticed that Instagram of late has been “reviewing” my Boosts a bit longer than before. I’m obviously trying to do everything by the book and I’ll comply with their policies, but I do wonder if non-one-man army media publications have to go through the same shrimp or if they don’t have to because they’re Blue-Check Marked.
C'est la vie. The world will keep on turning.
Quick #ad Intermission Before Sports
@YouTheReader one of the pubs I stopped by had a Bumble coaster so I went with @Bumble #ad and the company’s bot sent spammed me.
Here was the @BumbleBots response…
…It’s still in the works…
…but maybe a step in the right direction. I’ve never done the #ad before. Hmmm…
NY Yankee Candle Talk

Seriously?
Real deal. I don’t care that it’s March 2nd lol
Watch him round 3b. That base is enormous.
@YouTheReader I still think they should make the base a bit bigger. Should improve pace of play.

If Cashman says “f’ it - we’re going with Volpe and the 👽 on opening day” I would say put Cash in monument park regardless of the outcome. But I’m afraid they instead will say “we like what we see from IKF and Hicksie”.
I think the Yankees have always wanted Volpe to be the guy. I think they got IKF to be a stopgap for last year and the beginning part of this year. Going into last year I don’t think they believed in Peraza as highly as a prospect but he played well enough that now they’re in this awkward spot where they don’t know what to do. Because Peraza should probably be the opening-day shortstop, but they know Volpe is better and will be ready soon, and they don’t want to have Volpe replacing Peraza or won’t be able to if Peraza is playing well. Then there’s nowhere for Volpe to play unless they trade Gleyber. So basically long story short, they need to trade Peraza in my opinion.
Haha I’m doing write-ups later for both guys tomorrow and I’m putting Volpe as “prospect #1” but I want to put hit at ss. Penciled in Peraza for now.
Yeah, they gotta trade somebody.
The only other option would be to cut Donaldson and say we’re gonna rotate in 3 of Volpe, Peraza, Gleyber, and DJ between 2nd 3rd, and short.
That would be tough bc it means they’re all sitting at least once or twice a week but I think that is actually the ideal plan. But they won’t do it bc they “believe in Donaldson.”
Aka they’re too cheap to cut him.
Yup they should just phantom IL Donaldson and Hicks.
I think they have to trade Gleyber - hate to say that but Peraza probably doesn’t get enough back and the other guys stink. I doubt very highly that either Donaldson or Hicks make it the whole year.

👽
Again?
Lefty this time.
Beast.
**Let the kids play.**

Volpe is making this hard on them.
@YouTheReader I just thought the way the tweet was worded “they just aren’t telling him was funny.” That sounds kind of mean but IKF gets paid to play baseball. C'est la vie. The world will keep on turning.
NY Jets Offseason Flight Plan
3/3 ‘23
Daniel Jeremiah and Rich Eisen both mention hearing things "In the halls" of the combine.
DJ says he thinks Rodgers will be a Jet.
Also added he doesn't think it will take a 1st.
If they get him for less than 13 - wow. And if he’s into it and sticks around 2 years. Wow.
3/6 ‘23
Carr to Saints
Wow, Jets getting Rodgers.
Per sources Aaron Rodgers will return to play for the Green Bay Packers barring a material change bark bark bark
We are screwed. This account has scoops all the time. B**st**l account.
Yeah it’s PFT lol
Not good. They should’ve signed Carr.
Oh man - we get Jacob Brisberry? Maybe they still get Lamar if they tag him?
This is classic Jets. Joe Douglas now needs to pray that Aaron Rodgers wants to come to the Jets otherwise he and Robert Saleh are both getting fired after this season. We are probably missing the playoffs with Jimmy G or whoever else at quarterback.
3/7 ‘23
Per sources. Aaron Rodgers and the Jets had conversations today. While nothing is imminent Rodgers is open to the idea of going to NY
Dude - if we get him and don’t have to give up this year’s first-round - wow !! I think they do this year 2nd and next year it is conditional (ie if the jets win the SB next year GB gets our 1st round pick). I’ve seen that and would do it in a heartbeat.
It’s happening. Or it could be Lamar?
I would rather go with Rodgers.
Me too. But Lamar is a better plan b than some of the others ones.
I thought that might be Zach.
🤣🤣🤣

Here we go!
Next year is going to be insane. How bad do you think they want the Jets to do Hard knocks?
Haha, One Jets Drive is going to be must-watch 😂
@YouTheReader I find this funny because the Jets have been doing a team Hard Knocks of their own for about 5 years now and only about 18 people have watched, 3 of which are the Jets fan insiders and myself.
Disgusting.
Funhouse @BackAftaThis
Dude is a clown.
I hate Cowherd. @YouTheReader alright hate is a strong word. More like I dislike how he is part of the reason that sports media has gone so clickbaity. Then again I can’t really talk because I just made a He-Man Womun Haters Club the day after International Women’s Day.
Now we wait for the Aaron Rodgers decision to break. C'est la vie. The world will keep on turning.

The Knicks!
@YouTheReader the Knicks had an insane Final 2:08 Ending on Friday night against the Miami Heat. Julius Randle scored 43 points (8 of 13 from 3) and 9 rebounds, including the go-ahead basket with 1.1 seconds remaining.

The theme song for the NBA on CBS in the 70s is so fucking bad it’s hard to believe it really happened.
