@YouTheReader, hopefully, you know the deal by now, but on Thursdays, @YouTheReaders submit a topic or take of your own. It doesn’t have to be just sports, whatever is on your mind. All you have to do is send something to me that you think should be covered during the week and I promise to try my best to post it by Thursday. It can be as simple as a text or a DM to @You_The_Reader and also please don’t feel like any topic or take is irrelevant, the wider the field that Week to Week Notes can cover, the better.
My expertise is the Yankees, Jets, MLB, and the NFL. Despite loving to play basketball, I don’t keep up with it from start to finish like I used to. I think the more teams&sports that get covered, the better. There are so many of you die-hard sports fans who know what you're talking about, so this Thursday spot could only help.
@YouTheReader your default setting for His or Her Words, Not Mine is a team/sport/topic “fan insider.” If you wish to come up with your own @Name, I’ll run with that so that other @YouTheReaders could also start to get to know your style. Either way, I won’t tell no one your name. Unless you want your name on Week to Week Notes.

The Contemporary Era ballot for the Hall of Fame will be voted on this Sunday ⚖️
BK digs in and serves up some Cooperstown justice on three players he thinks are deserving of entry. #MLBNow
I think he’ll get in.
Would be amazing.
Great segment.
Best explanation I’ve heard.

This is really cool.
Josh Rojas of the @Dbacks walks through his thought process leading up to an at bat in real time.
All hitters should listen when a big leaguer talks hitting.
🔥
MLB should really find a way to do more of this - would be the coolest thing in sports.
Agreed can’t really mic guys up in other sports like that and have it be broadcasted live. They should take advantage of it.
Imagine hearing them talk during a play - yelling out for cutoffs - what base they are throwing to etc. would be awesome.
(@YouTheReader this is something that the MLB should really take more advantage of. It would be a very easy way for the players’ personalities to make more stars.)

Anthony Volpe is about to become the most popular Yankee. And they have Aaron Judge. Think about that.
I really hope they put him on the team. At this point it would look ridiculous if they didn’t
He’s going to be there on Opening Day. Boone kinda randomly ripped Perazza.
Yeah, I saw that. Weird. Volpe is not on 40-man, I’m guessing they can move some guys to IL but they might need to make a move or 2.
Luis Severino has a low-grade right lat strain and is expected to begin the season on the IL, Aaron Boone said. Clarke Schmidt is in line to start the #Yankees’ second game of the season.
Trade Gleyber.
Yes - and I love Sevy but may be time to go a new direction there.
At this point, they probably have to trade Gleyber
Volpe - single, double, triple today. IKF to start opening day.
I can’t wait to listen to Cashman mutter on about how it’s the right move in a condescending tone. Service time in baseball stinks.
It does stink. I wouldn’t blame them for doing it. 2 weeks in the minors gets you a full extra year of the guy. That being said, if he’s actually as good as we want him to be, we’re going to pay him long-term anyway. So I think they should just play him.
(@YouTheReader these are the ups and downs of sports fans that are waiting patiently for the team to make the announcement. This was a low moment where we all got paranoid that Young Volpe would not be making the team.)
Aaron Judge on Anthony Volpe, one more time: "He just shows up ready to work. He’s prepared. Rarely do you see that at such a young age. Usually you see some — a little immature or a little unprepared or the moment’s too big. But he’s seemed ready to go every single game ... "
Dude wants his lead-off hitter.
Aaron Nola on Anthony Volpe: "Looks like a really, really good ballplayer. Faced him for the first time in Tampa, now today. He can hit. I'm impressed by him.''

Turned the game on right as judges at bat started and was thinking “would like to see him hit another homer before the season starts.” He’s the best.
Haha right on cue. Right center too he’ll be ready
I think the big brother, little brother thing with Judge and Volpe is going to be awesome !!
Would be like if Jeter got to play with Mattingly in his prime.
Oh my God !!
Wow.
Let’s go!!!
YES!! LET THE KID PLAY!!
Jeff Passan @JeffPassan
They messed with him.
So awesome.
Good that they brought him up. Would’ve brought negativity the whole first few weeks of the season.
Surprised they didn’t retire Jackson’s number.
(@YouTheReader: Not Reggie Jackson. Clint Jackson Frazier. I too am surprised they haven’t retired the Red Thunder’s jersey.)
This is funny.
Lol

#11
Fits lead off better.
We’re going to be seeing a lot of these very soon.
Closes door on a Gardner comeback and leaves the door open for Jackson Frazier's return. 1+1= #2 & 99 +11 = 110. This is the 110th season in Yankee history (@YouTheReader their name changed in 1913.) This can only mean one thing…
Anthony Volpe called Brett Garnder before taking the number. This kid is literally perfect.
The real question: did he call Chuck Knoblauch and ask him?
Gary Sheffield Jr. can’t confirm.
Feel like he didn’t get the same call.
Yips.
I mean yikes.
Um - he had the yips - yea.
(@YouTheReader hopefully Chuck Knoblach doesn’t kick my ass for saying yikes… Although it might be kind of good for content….)
NY Jets Offseason Flight Plan

Cowboys’ RB Ezekiel Elliott has narrowed down his options about where to play to the Eagles, Jets and Bengals, and he would like to make his decision about where to sign by the end of next week, per sources.
