@YouTheReader, hopefully, you know the deal by now, but on Thursdays, @YouTheReaders submit a topic or take of your own. It doesn’t have to be just sports, whatever is on your mind. All you have to do is send something to me that you think should be covered during the week and I promise to try my best to post it by Thursday. It can be as simple as a text or a DM to @You_The_Reader and also please don’t feel like any topic or take is irrelevant, the wider the field that Week to Week Notes can cover, the better.
My expertise is the Yankees, Jets, MLB, and the NFL. Despite loving to play basketball, I don’t keep up with it from start to finish like I used to. My thinking is the more teams&sports that get covered the better and there are so many of you that die-hard sports fans who know what you're talking about so this Thursday spot could only help.
@YouTheReader your default setting for His or Her Words, Not Mine is a team/sport/topic “fan insider.” If you wish to come up with your own @Name, I’ll run with that so that other @YouTheReaders could also start to get to know your style. Either way, I won’t tell no one your name. Unless of course, you want your full name on Week to Week Notes.
Super Bowl Chatter
Phins Fan Insider: Whatever happens the Eagles have been a part of 2 ELECTRIC Super Bowls.
Giants Fan Insider: I don’t know how Mahomes is running like that on a high ankle sprain.
Phins Fan Insider: Horrible horrible call. You can’t call that man.
Chargers Fan Insider: Terrible holding call.
Phins Fan Insider: Ruined a classic. Absolutely ruined it.
Giants Fan Insider: Yikes Hurts has no arm.
Still Salty Patriots Fan Insider: I’m so hyped the Eagles lost. Scumbag fans. The Eagles’ offensive line false starts 50% of the time—enough with the RPO nonsense.
Now Jubiliant Giant Fan Insider:
Still Salty Patriots Fan Insider: I love how the Giants gave up Toney and it ended up helping the Eagles lose the Super Bowl. Toney was worth the pick.
Now Jubiliant Giant Fan Insider: We also cut Bradberry.

Jets sweep.
So awesome.
Announce Rodgers.
Lol.
That would be sick.
Sauce was ROY, Pro Bowl, and 1st-Team All-Pro as a rookie. Revis is my favorite player ever but why can’t sauce be better?

I didn’t realize the Revis and Klecko thing last night made it official. I thought they were already in. Revis was a slam dunk. He carried the Jets’ defense - allowed Rex to do a whole bunch of things he wouldn’t have been able to - and basically got them to back-to-back AFC championships. And Klecko was snubbed for way too long - he absolutely deserves to be there and gives me hope that one day Donnie Baseball gets the call as well.
@YouTheReader: Joe Klecko played for the NY Jets from 1977 to 1987. He was the most integral piece of the Jets’ “New York Sack Exchange” of the 1980s. He could play all over the defensive line, lining up right next to where the ball is snapped or on the edge. His versatility was the reason their unit could show a three-man or four-man front. During the start of his NFL playing career, the NFL didn’t keep track of the term Deacon Jones coined a “sack” (when a defender tackles a QB behind the line of scrimmage.) His 1981 season where he ended up with 20.5 unofficial sacks was part of the reason the NFL decided, hey maybe we should keep track of these statistics. Klecko’s 20.5 sacks bested one of his Sack Exchange teammates Mark Gastineau, who had 20 sacks. They would finish 2nd and 3rd in NFL Defensive Player of the Year that year to another New Yorker whose name is Lawrence Taylor, otherwise known as LT. He was selected to the All-Pro team 3 times (1st team in 1981 & 1985) and is the only player in NFL history selected to the Pro Bowl at all three positions across the defensive line. In the GIF below, you can see him tackling Archie Manning, O.J. Simpson, and Terry Bradshaw.

#OTD in 1997, the @nyjets hired Bill Parcells as their head coach.
Season 1: Improved from 1-15 to 9-7
Season 2: Improved to 12-4 and advanced to the AFC Championship Game
A look inside what the Parcells School sounded like.
📹: @NFLFilms
We needed this guy to stick around a little longer!!
That’s awesome, it’s cool how much attention to detail he’s giving the punt returner.
Crazy.
@YouTheReader: River Dell High School alum, Bill Parcells, was the Jets’ head coach from 1997 to 1999. When he started with the team in 1997, he was taking over a franchise that had gone an abysmal 1-15 under Rich Kotite in 1996. In 1997 the “Big Tuna”, had the Jets at 9-7. In 1998 the team went 12-4 and made the AFC Championship. Unfortunately, 1999 was his last year as head coach where they went 8-8. I’ll be sure to dive much deeper into the Parcells’ Jets at a later date.
The #Packers "are open to trade" QB Aaron Rodgers, if Rodgers wants to move on to a new team, according to the NFL Network.
Rodgers will enter his 4-day “darkness retreat” on Monday tomorrow. His decision could come next week.

I can’t believe this is really the situation we’re in 😂😂😂
(@YouTheReader: Woah I had no idea the Emojis would transfer over.)
Good lord. Bad timing with the Carr stuff too. My guess is they go all in for Rogers - and if they do it’s because they already know.
Aaron Rodgers right now… probably.
Plan B maybe Garappalo.
Or Zach !!
I saw a tweet that said Carr will probably be either a Saint or a free agent by Wednesday. So it’s possible if a trade doesn’t happen we’ll have both Rodgers and Carr as options.
Best case.

Umm Jets just hired a passing game coordinator who just got out of jail?
Yup. He’s also from the Titans’ run-first offense—pretty random hire.
He was with the raiders for a while with Carr.
Maybe Carr was his designated driver?
Carr rejected a trade to the Saints. I guess it means he won’t sign with them - maybe he just doesn’t want the Raiders to get anything back.
2/14 ‘23
Imagine how uninspiring it will be when they announce they’ve signed Tannehill. He’d actually probably be good, certainly better than anything we’ve seen in a long time - but I don’t see any of us running out to buy the jersey!!
We need to pray we get Rodgers.
That would be most exciting - then Carr cause we lose no picks and don’t have to think about QB for the next 2-3 years.
(@YouTheReader: You couldn’t pay me to wear a Carr or Tannehill jersey. Aaron Rodgers on the other hand would be pretty, pretty, pretty cool.)

Blessed in my uprising
Blessed in season
Blessed outta season
Blessed when I was born
Just plain out blessed
He must have inside info that Braxton Berrios is getting cut and maybe they’ll throw him the ball next year.
He’s annoyyyyiiing
Yes - but Berrios' story was fun 2 seasons ago. I’d cut him and throw the ball to EM more often.
Yeah, they actually could probably cut him, use Moore more and take a shot at a WR in later rounds that may have more upside than Berrios. It’s weird that they don’t really have any glaring holes at any position besides QB (kind of important) and maybe a safety.
That’s why Carr prob makes the most sense.
Why would the Jets have to give up #13 for Rodgers? You’d have to assume someone else is willing to give up a first-round pick, and he’d agree to go there. Does Green Bay have any leverage if they basically say they are ready to move on and so is he?
I agree everybody just assumes you have to pay 2-3 firsts but Rodgers has given himself a ton of leverage. Couldn’t he just say I’m only signing a 1-year extension with the Jets or I’ll retire? The Jets could know this and tell Packers we’re only giving you a 1 and a 3rd rounder in ‘25 or something.
Let’s go !!
Hopefully, Albert Breer is right!
I heard on the radio and like the idea. The Jets should offer Aaron $70 million in 3rd year of an3 year deal. See if he’ll commit to 3 years. If not we are starting over in a year or 2.
I don’t hate it. I like the idea of saying we’re going all in on the next 2 years. We have a lot of good players on rookie deals. Bring in Rodgers and spend around him or bring in veterans for cheaper that want to play with him. Draft a QB in the second round next season, let him sit for a year, then give him a shot after Rodgers retires. Now you have a QB on a cheap deal that should actually have a good veteran team around him (a la Sanchez in 09/10) and you have the money to pay Garrett Wilson, Sauce, AVT, and whoever else.
If they get Rodgers they may draft someone this year unless they think Zach still has a chance.
I’m fine with that too.
(@YouTheReader: Not going to lie, it’s Aaron Rodgers or bust. Keep us Jets fans in your thoughts.)
Miami Dolphins Fan Insider
“They needed to get Zack Thomas in the Hall of Fame. Now everything is right in the world… They put Brian Urlacher in before him, what a joke. Check the tape.”
(@YouTheReader: Zack Thomas is currently 5th all-time in career tackles with 1,107. He spent his whole career (1996 to ‘07) with Miami Dolphins except for his last year when he played for the Cowboys in ‘08, but we won’t mention that. Despite being a rival of the Jets, I totally agree that the 7-time All-Pro should be in Canton. Most importantly, I remember him being an absolute menace in NFL Street so he has my uncredentialed approval. Don’t believe me? Check the tape)

I saw that. I think that’s good. Once he’s ready he can sit there for years and play 1B.
(@YouThReader: Smart for the Yankees to start getting him some reps at first base now. Even if it’s just a bit of a bit for now, playing the outfield 140+ games a season can wear the big fella down - CF especially. Playing first base here or there should in theory help take a load off #99.)
Right-hander Frankie Montas, the biggest acquisition for the New York Yankees at the trade deadline last year who was expected to be a big part of their rotation this year, will undergo shoulder surgery on Tuesday that could cause him to miss the season, manager Aaron Boone said.
