Level I | We Are All Now Josaiah Stewart Fans | Yanks & Jets Banter | Critiquing The Critics (Chicken Run) | YouTube Rabbithole
Alright @YouTheReader,
Here’s the deal, while I’m a huge fan of the Goo Goo Dolls and love the song Name, it can sorta be a downer. I think it served its purpose. I’d love to keep Thursday’s His or Her Words, Not Mine on Week to Week Notes business as usual just with Levels by Avicii on in the background. I enjoy the music element of all of this, but I need Thursdays where I don’t have to concentrate too heavily on lyrics or disk-jockeying @Zuck’s Instagram playlist. The same sentiment still applies, if you ever feel like writing or sending anything over.
If you or anybody you know may be interested in writing about sports, teams, music, movies, or whatever floats your boat, you’re always welcome to shoot over a paragraph or bullet points. You never know until you try. If there is a story I might have missed, or sports I don’t get the chance to cover (such as Gaelic, Hurling, Rugby, UFC, MMA, Euro Football, Tennis, hockey, NBA, etc.) I figure the more opinions the better. If you want to complain about how your 6-week-old nephew won’t have a catch with you, need to vent about how kids today don’t appreciate Enrique Wilson’s infield versatility, or shit talk your favorite team’s general manager, just please keep in mind my grandma reads this, thank you!
Levels by Avicii was and still is class. How can you not sometimes get a good feeling while listening to this timeless tune? Have you ever heard it in reverse?
Josaiah Stewart is originally from the Bronx but played his high school ball in Massachusetts where he was a 3-star prospect. His senior season in the fall of ‘20 was canceled because of COVID so he only had a year and a half experience of high school football so he attended a prep school where he played both tight end and defensive end. In ‘21, he made his collegiate debut with Coastal Carolina and immediately made an impact with 15.5 tackles for loss to go with 12.5 sacks. This earned him All-Sun Belt first team. While he wasn’t able to replicate the sack numbers in year 2, Stewart in ‘22 was All-Sun Belt second team with 10 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. This past year Stewart transferred to Michigan and has been a solid contributor for the best defense in College Football. As a Michigan Man, Stewart has picked up 4.5 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss. He’ll be coming off the edge tonight against Alabama, so let’s see if he can add to that.
Josaiah Stewart was one of the 1st people to view the Instagram tag of Mock Draft Monday 2 hours after the ball dropped on New Year’s in New York. The next day, during the Rose Bowl, Stewart picked up a sack and was 2nd on the team in tackles with 6. Let’s hope he can add another sack to the tally in the College Football Championship!

I’m watching a documentary about Punky Brewster - seems things aren’t going so well.
Not missing much. Elijah Moore's revenge game but at least Breece Hall is still good.
Sidenote: @YouTheReader who is Punky Brewster?
So is Jermaine Johnson. Jets 12-5 next year.
This is embarrassing for the defense.
I’m not sure how Saleh can defend this - but he doesn’t have to apparently.
Good news is we are learning Seamen is worst then Boyle.
Me too
Doesn’t seem good.
We need the Yanks to do another big trade so we can say “Who cares about the Jets, the Yanks are awesome” - like we said in August - just the other way around.
@Yankees do something or I’m going to start harassing Brian Cashman on the internet.
If not for Interleague play - who knows
@YouTheReader did you know that Chien-Ming Wang once stepped foot on my parents’ driveway? A former athletic trainer once temporarily lived in an apartment nearby. By the way, the interleague play reference is about how Wang sprained his Lisfranc ligament and tore his peroneal longus muscle in his right foot. He was never the same after as it may have thrown off his balance as arm injuries would ensue. He was an excellent pitcher from ‘05 to ‘08, it was a real shame because he wasn’t even 30 before his career was derailed.

This is actually funny.
He’s funny. Solid role player and brings something different.
1JD gonna open with “It was all just a bad dream” sequence next August.

Wow
Dang, yanks have had his number
I think Braves thought that guy was their SS of the future and he had a bad year or something?
Interesting trade
@YouTheReader Vaughn Grissom was one of Atlanta’s top prospects. He hit .320 with a .407 OBP in his 4 seasons in the minors. It is kind of bizarre that the Braves would deal a 23-year-old middle infielder who in 2 cups of coffee with the Braves has hit .287, but it may be because he is now viewed as more of a 2nd baseman than a SS.
Matt Turner (Team USA goalkeeper) had a sick save in the 95th minute. First time his team (Nottingham Forest) ever beat Manchester United. Pretty cool.
That is awesome. Even if he doesn’t play for like the biggest club it’s insanely cool that he’s a legit Premier League player.
Yeah for sure, that’d be like him pitching a gem against the Yanks. The United franchise is still huge.
Brilliant !!!

I would love this. Think he would fit perfectly as a bench piece/utility infielder. Bring him home!
That could work, he’d prob be a better bench guy than Peraza.

Prob not true - but if it is, that’s really bad.
@YouTheReader let the record show that I was not only a Suck For Sam advocate, but never wanted Darnold out! Bring him home and draft a developmental QB to have under Rodgers next year.
I like this. And Pratt looks like he could be good. (I have no idea what time saying - but Pratt looked damn good on YouTube.).
That would be great. Haha I agree Pratt looks like a kid who would be better with NFL teammates around him.
Sit him behind Rogers for 2 seasons then let it rip.
They gotta try it with someone

Thanks for the memories, Dalvin.
I can’t see how he’s even on an NFL team next year, that was tough to watch.
(@YouTheReader the Ravens are interested in adding him to his practice squad.)

Is that a red flag? Cause if they missed on this guy when they should have an offensive lineman or wide receiver that would be really bad.
Not exactly what you want to hear. That could explain why he didn’t get much playing time in the middle of the season.
No, I don’t think so. JJ talked a lot in the offseason about how he was disappointed in his rookie year and how he really focused on what he needed to get better at. I feel like that’s all he’s saying.
Hopefully, they work out in the offseason. JJ was probably the most improved player on the team.
Agreed!!
Chicken Run came to mind earlier this week once I read about the story of how The Flying Cock got its name. I probably saw it in theaters and it probably had a bunch of adult humor that went way over my head. This is one of those movies that I feel like people around my age and their parents will go, “Oh yeah, I remember that.” Here are a few facts I found on ScreenRant…
- This movie introduced a new Ocscar category after it lost out to Gladiator. It helped create the Best Animated Feature because fans felt it was snubbed. A year later in ‘01, Shrek would win the first Oscar for the new category.
- Mel Gibson would be the voice of Rocky. He took the role because his son wanted him to do it. Eddie Murphy, David Arquette, and Ethan Hawke were the other options. I’m glad Murphy held out to be the voice of Donkey.
- Nick Park, the co-writer and co-director, had childhood chickens for pets. Ginger and Rocky, the main characters, were real chicken names he had as a kid.
The public loved it, let’s see what the critics had to say…
Happy New Year to you too, Mr. Scribbs of Low IQ Canadian.
It was for the kids, Joshua… I feel personally victimized.
Woah Cory, I thought this was a good movie, but don’t you dare compare this to Toy Story!
Wow, I thought this was good when I was 6, apparently, it was life-changing for Chris Gore.
